Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in which a single channelization code may be utilized on an uplink channel for providing a HARQ ACK/NACK response corresponding to DC-HSDPA +MIM0. Here, the set of channelization codes includes four codeword groups, each codeword group corresponding to a scenario wherein a node B schedules a single transport block or dual transport blocks on each of the two downlink carriers. Thereby, each of the four codeword groups may be designed to have an improved distance property in comparison to the utilization of a single codeword group for all HARQ ACK/NACK hypotheses, reducing errors.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the disclosure provide for apparatus, methods, and software for implementing a time division duplex (TDD) wireless communication system that can utilize configurable delays to relax data processing timelines when needed. By implementing these configurable delays, very high data rates may be accommodated at the same time as lower data rates for devices that may have reduced or lesser processing capabilities.

Abstract:
Techniques are described that provide for virtual symbol splitting for uplink and/or downlink wireless transmissions. A wireless transmitter, such as a UE or a base station, may identify a pilot signal and a payload to be transmitted in a full symbol. The transmitter may format the pilot signal and the payload into separate sub-symbols that are nested within the first full symbol, with each sub-symbol including an associated sub-symbol cyclic prefix, and the full symbol including a full symbol cyclic prefix.

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support frequency and time domain multiplexing for low peak-to-average waveforms with multiple streams. A user equipment (UE) may identify sets of symbols associated with different streams (e.g., multiple single-carrier discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-spread waveforms), where each stream may be associated with a low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In some cases, different waveforms may be mapped to subsets of frequency resources through frequency division multiplexing (FDM). The UE may further reduce the PAPR of the multiplexed waveforms by performing time division multiplexing (TDM) across the single-carrier streams, and sets of symbols that are not used by one waveform may be used by another waveform. Frequency domain phase ramps may be applied to align the multiplexed waveforms. Signals included in an uplink transmission according to these techniques may maintain properties similar to single-carrier waveforms, including a low PAPR.
Abstract:
Various additional and alternative aspects are described herein. In some aspects, the present disclosure provides a method for wireless communication. The method includes determining at least one RS pattern for allocating a reference signal on an uplink channel and a downlink channel based on one or more transmission factors for transmitting the reference signal, wherein at least a portion of the at least one RS pattern is the same for the uplink channel and the downlink channel. The method further includes transmitting the reference signal using the determined RS pattern.
