Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
Adhesive-releasing silicone coatings are provided for substrates by applying a composition consisting essentially of a polydiorganosiloxane substituted with methyl, ethyl, propyl, or hydroxyl radicals and an ultraviolet radiation photosensitizer to a substrate, and exposing the applied solution to ultraviolet radiation. By the method of this invention said polydiorganosiloxanes can be crosslinked on substrates to furnish, e.g., adhesive-releasing coatings on paper.
Abstract:
Abstract:
This invention is directed to a method for reducing the strength of adhesion of solid particulate materials to metal surfaces as occurs under water freezing conditions by coating the metal surface with a mixture comprising a hydrocarbon liquid which has a solidification or pour point not greater than 0°F and a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having from about 10 to about 18 carbon atoms.
Abstract:
A process for the improvement of adhesion between fluoropolymers or fluorocopolymers and inorganic compounds as well as composites made by this process are disclosed. The inorganic compound is coated with an adhesion promoter. Contacting the adhesion-promoted inorganic compound with the fluoropolymer or fluorocopolymer and heating develops the adhesive bond.
Abstract:
A component produced by powder metallurgical means and with at least one surface subject to tribological stress is entirely or partially coated by immersion in a suspension consisting essentially of extremely fine polytetrafluor ethylene powder in a carrier material which acts as an adhesive agent.
Abstract:
A process and apparatus for high pressure impact coating of portions of workpieces such as the threaded openings (23) in fasteners (22) in avoidance of contaminating undesired portions of the workpieces with the coating material. A metered quantity of coating material (62) is charged into a passageway (56) and moved by low pressure air to a chamber (63) ahead of an atomizing nozzle (43). High pressure air is introduced to the passageway and the coating material is fogged into a chamber defined by the workpiece (22) and tooling (20, 21). Proliferation and impingement of the cloud on the selected surfaces (23) follows under vented conditions. A construction (45) in the vent line (46) achieves the necessary delay and sets the system for accomplishing the coating. The machine structure facilitates use of the coating devices with a wide range of female threaded fasteners and achieves the process steps while providing for flushing the lines (46, 56) and drying the working structure.
