    Abstract: A control assembly for releasing a latch has a base plate (26) for mounting components of the control assembly. A pivotally mounted (28) input lever is movable between a ready position and a release position. The input lever (28) connects to a release handle (22). A pivotally mounted output lever (30) connects to a latch (14, 16) and transmits a releasing force. A pivotally mounted locking lever (34) is rotatable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A link (98) slidably engages the output lever (30) and pivotally engages the locking lever (34). When the locking lever (34) moves between the locked and unlocked positions, the link (98) responsively decouples and couples the input lever (28) and the output lever (30) to allow independent and dependent rotation thereof, respectively, selectively transferring the releasing force from the release handle (22) to the latch (14, 16).

    Abstract: An easily removable vehicle seat (12) is provided for use with a vehicle including a floor (14) having an upwardly facing surface (24). The floor includes front and rear wells (26,28) extending below the upwardly facing surface, and anchor members (36) extending across the wells. The vehicle seat (12) includes a rigid support structure (50) having a downwardly facing surface for engaging the anchor members (36,37) of the vehicle floor. A cushioned seat structure is (52,54) provided on the rigid support structure (50). The vehicle seat also includes hook members (40,42) mounted on the rigid support structure (50) for movement between (A) an operative position extending below the downwardly facing surface so as to enter the wells (28,28) and engage in hooked relationship with the anchor members (36,37) and (B) an inoperative position disposed above the operative position thereof so as to enable the rigid support structure (50) to be moved relatively over the floor. Wheels (46,47) are mounted on said rigid support structure (50) for movement between (A) an operative position extending below the downwardly facing surface of the rigid support structure (50) and so as to enable the rigid support structure (50) to be rolled over the upwardly facing surface (24) of the vehicle floor and (B) an inoperative position disposed above the operative position thereof. The vehicle seat (12) further includes a mechanism (49) for moving the hook members (40,42) into the operative position thereof and the wheels (46,47) into the inoperative position thereof and for moving the hook members (40,42) into the inoperative position thereof and the wheels (46,47) into the operative position thereof.

    Abstract: A linear drive, particularly useful for locking or unlocking a door lock mechanism or the like permits manual operation by providing an output shaft that can move freely regardless whether the output shaft is in extended or retracted positions without back driving the motor. The output shaft is coaxially slideably situated over a screw which moves a nut that is theadingly engaged therewith and moves inside the output shaft along the axial direction of the screw. The output shaft is not threadingly engaged with the screw. The output shaft thus is freely movable relative to the screw, which results in essentially zero back drive of the screw and the motor. To provide for manual operation, the nut is automatically moved back to its neutral position every tie the output shaft is extended or retracted by a torsion spring or the like which can store energy therein. Whenever the motor is operated to drive the screw, the spring gear is also rotated, which causes the spring to store energy therein. As soon as the motor is turned off, the energy stored in the spring causes the worm gear to rotate in the direction opposite to the last motor driven direction to move the nut to the neutral position it was in prior to energization of the motor.

    Abstract: A door latch assembly has a housing (14) defining a mouth (48). A detent fork (44) is pivotally mounted within the housing to cooperate with the mouth to pivot between an open and closed condition for receiving, engaging and cinching a keeper of a striker. The detent fork (44) is biased in the open condition. A pivotally mounted pawl (50, 54) is biased into engagement with the detent fork for retaining the detent fork in the closed condition. A pivotally mounted inside release arm (34) is movable between a stand-by position and a release position and biased to the stand-by position. A pivotally mounted outside release arm (32) is movable between a stand-by position and a release position, and biased to the stand-by position. A pivotally mounted locking cam (58) operably engages the pawl (50, 54) for positioning the pawl to selectively engage the release arms (34, 32). The locking cam (58) is rotatable between an unlocked position for urging the pawl to engage at least one of the arms (34, 32), a single lock position for urging the pawl to engage at most one of the arms (34, 32), and a double lock position for urging the pawl (50, 54) to disengage both arms. A double lock lever (66) operably engages the rotatable locking cam (58) for rotating the locking cam between the unlocked position, the single lock position and the double lock position. A single lock sub-assembly comprises a handle lever (94) coupled to the rotatable locking cam (58) for rotation therewith between the unlocked position and the single lock position and uncoupled from the rotating locking cam when the rotatable locking cam is rotated between the single lock position and the double lock position.

    Abstract: A seat frame assembly for a motor vehicle comprises a seat frame (14) and a seat back frame (16). The seat frame is constructed and arranged to have a seat cushion (30) mounted thereon in overlying relation. The seat back frame (16) is connected with the seat frame (14) and has a pair of spaced metallic vertical support portions (34) at opposite sides thereof, the seat back frame being constructed and arranged to have a seat back cushion (32) mounted thereon.     Abstract: A seat for a motor vehicle providing at least two modes of operation including an adult seat mode and a child seat mode.     Abstract: A vehicle seat comprising a memory carriage assembly having a connector mechanism mounted thereon for movement between first and second positions, and an actuator mechanism mounted thereon for movement between first and second positions. The memory carriage assembly is arranged with respect to the releasable locking assembly and both the manual and seat back actuated releasing mechanisms of the seat so that (1) when the releasable locking assembly is in the locked position thereof the actuator mechanism is in the first position thereof and the connector mechanism is in the first position thereof, (2) when the releasable locking assembly is released by the seat back actuated releasing mechanism, the actuator mechanism is moved from the first position thereof into the second position thereof to enable the connector mechanism to retain the memory carriage assembly in a stationary position while the seat is moved forwardly and returned with the return causing the actuator mechanism to enable the releasable locking assembly to return to its locking position which, in turn, moves the actuator mechanism from the second position thereof into the first position thereof, and (3) when the releasable locking assembly is released by the manually actuated releasing mechanism, the actuator mechanism will be retained in the first position thereof to enable the memory carriage assembly to be moved by the connector mechanism with the seat.
