    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for detecting microorganism using microbial fuel cells is provided to effectively measure E.coli concentration. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting microorganism using medium-containing microorganism comprises: a step of injecting substrate and microorganisms to a medium of a fuel cell; a step of applying current generated by the reaction of the substrate and microorganism to the outside; and a step of measuring voltage change according to the current. The microorganism is E.coli. The substrate includes 4-APGal, PNPG or 8-HQG.
