    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) determine a default beam for a dedicated PUCCH/SRS in a CC. The UE may determine a pathloss RS has been configured in the CC, e.g., responsive to the UE determining that spatial relationship information for a default transmission beam has not been configured and determine the default beam for transmissions based, at least in part, on the (configured) pathloss RS. Additionally, responsive to determining that the pathloss RS has not been configured in the CC, the UE may determine that no CORESETs/TCI states for a PDSCH in the CC have been configured and determine the default beam for transmissions based, at least in part, on a default transmission beam in another CC, a CC index, a PRACH procedure, a PUSCH transmission, an SRS transmission, and/or a PUCCH transmission.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for radio link monitoring for multiple DCI based transmissions. The UE may receive, from a network node, a configuration for multiple downlink control information (DCI) mode operation in which a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) is scheduled by multiple DCIs from a number of control resource sets (CORESETs). The number of CORESETs may exceed a number of CORESETs the UE can monitorable. The UE may determine a set of CORESETs to monitor based, at least in part, on one or more CORESET properties. The set of CORESETs to monitor may be less than the number of CORESETs. Additionally, the UE may monitor the set of CORESETs for at least one of a radio link failure or a beam failure.

    Abstract: A hierarchical beamforming structure may help reduce network traffic overhead for transmission of beam indication (information) and enable efficient Transmission Configuration Indication, while facilitating beam tracking between a base station(s) and a mobile device(s) during downlink communications. Downlink control information (DCI) may be expanded to carry/transmit a beam/QCL (quasi co-location) indication for a control resource set (CORESET) for monitoring a next instance of a physical control channel. Error resilient design techniques may be employed to further improve device mobility while increasing the flexibility and reducing the latency for GC-PDCCH/PDCCH beam/QCL indications. For example, the aggregation level for select DCI (e.g. DCI in which the GC-PDCCH/PDCCH beam indication has changed) may be increased, the transmission of such select DCI may be limited to a certain (specified) aggregation level, and in case discontinuous transmission (DTX) is received, the base station may transmit both old and new beam/QCL indications.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform simultaneous uplink activity for multiple RATs in the same carrier using frequency division multiplexing. The wireless device may establish a first wireless link with a first base station according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second wireless link with a second base station according to a second RAT. The first base station may provide a first cell operating in a first system bandwidth and the second base station may provide a second cell operating in a second system bandwidth. The wireless device may determine whether the wireless device has uplink activity scheduled according to both the first RAT and the second RAT. If so, the wireless device may perform uplink activity for both the first RAT and the second RAT in the first system bandwidth using frequency division multiplexing.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for a base station (BS) to configure default and supplementary sync signals (SS) at sub-band bandwidths in a wireless communication system. The supplementary SS may be configured in response to a determination that the BS is in wireless communications with a UE using a single narrow band radio-frequency chain. The BS may configure the supplementary SS to be proximate in frequency to a PDCCH search space currently in use by the UE. The default SS may be configured to support initial access and may have a shorter periodicity, while the supplementary SS may be configured to not support initial access and may have a longer periodicity. The BS may additionally or alternatively configure a tracking reference signal (RS), wherein the tracking RS is configured on-demand based on a current network load of the BS. The tracking RS may be configured at a sub-band bandwidth, wherein the sub-band bandwidth is selected based on a bandwidth allocated to an active UE in wireless communication with the BS.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to indicating capabilities of a user equipment to a base station while performing cellular communication. A user equipment (UE) may transmit capability information to a base station. The capability information may comprise a maximum transport block size (TBS) per transmission time interval (TTI) and an associated processing delay of the UE for a reference subcarrier spacing. Alternatively, the capability information may comprise a maximum throughput and associated processing delay of the UE. The base station may determine at least one of a maximum TBS per TTI or a number of parallel hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes to utilize in subsequent communications with the UE based on the capability information and a subcarrier spacing to be used for the subsequent communications.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to acknowledgements and preemption indicators in the context of multiplexing different services on wireless physical layer frames. In some embodiments, transport blocks for a transmission are divided into code blocks and code block groups. Information indicating the division may be communicated between a base station and mobile device. In some embodiments, a preemption indicator is transmitted which indicates a portion of the transport block preempted by another data service, and the preemption indicator is specified at a different granularity than a code block group. In some embodiments, acknowledgement information is transmitted that indicates, for each code block group included in the transport block, whether the code block group was successfully decoded by the user device. In various embodiments, the disclosed techniques may facilitate preemption by a low-latency, high-reliability data service.
