Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the mingling of a core material and clad material by extruding only the core material from a nozzle and vulcanizing the core material prior to coating of the clad material. CONSTITUTION:The transparent core material 3 is extruded from the nozzle 4 and before this transparent core material 3 is vulcanized, the low-viscosity transparent coating material 6 which is liquid is coated on the peripheral face thereof and thereafter, the transparent core material 3 and the transparent coating material 6 or only the transparent coating material 6 is vulcanized by heating. The liquid clad material 9 is coated on the peripheral face of the transparent coating material 6 and this clad material 9 is vulcanized by projection of UV rays, radiations or electron rays or by heating. Only the core material 3 is thereby extruded from the nozzle 4 and since the core material 3 is cured by the vulcanization prior to the coating of the clad material 9, the mingling thereof with the clad material 3 is prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain transparency of silicone rubber for a long time and to prevent deterioration of the transparency at high temp. effectively by constructing a core of additive reaction type silicone rubber and incorporating a specified pts.wt. crosslinking catalyst into the silicon rubber. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical clad 2 having lower refractive index than that of a core 1 is adhered to the periphery of a transparent core 1 consisting of silicone rubber having high refractive index. The content of a crosslinking catalyst in the silicone rubber is selected to 0.005X10 -0.1X10 pts.wt., pref. 0.01X10 -0.05X10 pts.wt. as Pt basing on 100pts.wt. base polymer. The addition reaction type silicone rubber consists of a base polymer comprising diorgano polysiloxane contg. vinyl groups, a crosslinking agent comprising organo hydrogen polysiloxane contg. Si-H groups, and Pt compd. as a catalyst for crosslinking the above described base polymer to the crosslinking agent.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent mixing of a core material and clad material and disturbance of a boundary face and to decrease a light transmission loss by forming a light guide in such a manner that the clad material is first quickly crosslinked by radiations in the position right under a concentrical nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The liquid core material 5 and clad material 6 are respectively simultaneously extruded from the concentrically disposed nozzles 1, 2. The clad material 6 which is an outside layer is crosslinked by the projection of radiations, electron rays or UV rays and thereafter, the core material 5 inscribing the clad material 6 is crosslinked by heating. The clad material is quickly crosslinked to form a clad 6a not only before said material is mixed with the core material 5 but also before the disturbance is generated at the boundary face of the two materials 5, 6. The clad maintains the shape thereof and is introduced in the state into a heating furnace 8. The light transmission loss is thereby effectively decreased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized, lightweight sensor of simple structure by composing the sensor of a main sensor body, its holding part, and a drawing part. CONSTITUTION:The sensor consits of the main sensor body 1, its holdig part 2, and drawing part 3. The main sensor part 1 has a couple of electrodes 11 which have elasticitydand are connected to lead wires 4 on both surfaces of elastic pressure conductive rubber 10 in contact and those area coated with a coating material 12 which has insulatting property and is elastic. Then, the fitted drawing part 3 is drawn to elongate the main body 1 into an elastic deformation state, and the pressure conductive rubber 10 sandwiched between the electrodes 11 is compressed to deform and decrease in electric resistance, so that both electrodes 11 conduct to each other. When the main body part 1 is released from being elongated with the external force, the main body part 1 restores itself elastically to remove the continuity between both electrodes 11. For the purpose, the main body part 1 is formed so that its sectional shape varies in the drawing direction and the resistance value is measured to know extensional stress or extensional displacement electrically.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect the uncontrollable running of a robot or the like at a high sensitivity without increasing the installation space and the man-hour of mounting, by winding a contact sensor spirally about a line or a bar-like structural body to be connected to a detection means with a lead. CONSTITUTION:A contact sensor 2 is wound spirally about a line or a bar-like structural body 1 and a lead 3 of the sensor 2 is connected to a detection means 4 for detecting the contact the sensor 2. The sensor 2 is made up of a pressure conductive rubber 6, two flexible electrodes 7 arranged by sandwitching the rubber 6, an elastic insulation skin 8 covering the entire circumference of the assembly thereof and a lead 3 connected to the respective flexible electrode 7. Then, for example, when a structural body 1 moving off the scheduled orbit touches a human body, the conduction of the electrode 7 based on the decrease in the resistance value of the rubber 6 is sensed by the detection means 4 as the force acting on the sensor 2 exceeds a specified value at the contact, thereby enabling accurate detection of the contact at a high sensitivity regardless of the direction of contact of the structural body 1.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectually cool the inside of a storage space because the heat from illumination is prevented from being transmitted, and the inside of the storage space can be illuminated enough brilliantly. SOLUTION: The present show case 1 includes a tubular clad 23, and a core 22 constructed with a higher refractive index material than a clad material, and further a plurality of band shaped reflection layers formed between the tubular clad 23 and the core 22 longitudinally thereof. The inside of the storage space 9 is illuminated with an optical transmission tube 21 adapted such that light passing through the core 22 is reflected on and scattered from the reflection layers, and hence radiated in a plurality of directions from an outside peripheral surface of the tubular clad 23 on the opposite side to a reflection layer formation side.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive light transmission tube which emits light having high luminance while having directivity from its lateral peripheral surface, maintains an excellent light transmission characteristic in spite of adhesion of stains, etc., and has excellent mass productivity and which is capable of releasing high-luminance light toward all bearings. SOLUTION: This light transmission tube 1 has a tubular clad 3 and a core 2 composed of a material having the refractive index higher than the refractive index of this clad material, is formed with belt-like reflection layers 4 extending in the longitudinal direction thereof between the tubular clad 3 and the core 2 to a spiral shape and is constituted to reflect and scatter the light passing the core 2 by these reflection layers 4 and to release the light spirally from the outer peripheral surface of the tubular clad 3 on the side opposite to the side formed with the reflection layers. The light transmission tube is produced by using a multicolor extruder, introducing the core material, the clad material and the reflection materials contg. while pigments or scattering materials into the respective mouthpiece parts of the extruder and respectively simultaneously extruding the core material to a columnar shape, the reflection materials to belt forms on the outer peripheral surface of the columnar core material and the clad material to a tubular form covering the core material and the reflection materials, then taking off the extrude while twisting the extrudate.
