Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a subject head which is uniform in the size of a recording dot and improves a picture quality, by a method wherein, in order to uniformalize a dot to be recorded, a distance from a position of a discharge orifice to a discharge energy generating means is caused to varry with the location of a head. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of discharge orifices from a multiorifice array structure which is erected in a perpendicular direction to form a recording head. A distance D from a discharge orifice at the energy operating part of the recoding head to a heating resistor 11-i is caused to vary with the location of the head, or the distance D at the upper part of the head is caused to differ with that at the lower part of the head. If the distance D is set to a shorter one at the lower end of the head as compared with that at the upper part of the head, a difference in the size of the recording dot can be almost disregarded.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To surely avoid a communication impossible state due to the noncoincidence of a modem mode by informing the reception side of a fact that a transmission mode is to be switched and uniquely switching the mode on the reception side. CONSTITUTION: On the transmission side, after normally receiving a CFR first, an SMH signal is sent out and picture signals are sent out after the interval of a margin period for switching the mode. In the meantime, on the reception side, after sending out the CFR, standby is performed at a low-speed reception mode, and when the SMH is received, a mode is switched to a high-speed reception mode in 75msec for instance and the reception of the respective signals of TRN, PIX and RTC arriving next is executed. Thus, for the program of reception mode judgment, only the decoding of the SMH is sufficient and the need of the complicated programs of whether or not they are significant signals and whether or not mode changeover is required, etc., is eliminated. Thus, the communication impossible state due to the noncoincidence of the mode is surely evaded.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the convenience of use by storing whether a caller terminal equipment is a speech terminal equipment or a communication terminal equipment, detecting telephone number information between call signal pulses, and activating the terminal equipment depending on the type of the caller terminal equipment and the mode of the received signal. CONSTITUTION:Telephone number information of destinations being a communication terminal equipment and a speech terminal equipment is registered respectively to registration circuits 42, 44. Upon the receipt of an incoming call, a control circuit 48 checks the telephone number information sent between call signal pulses. When the call comes from the speech terminal equipment, a call signal is outputted to a telephone set 0 or an automatic answering telephone set 1 and no signal is given to a facsimile equipment (FAX). When the call signal comes from a communication terminal equipment, the reception by the facsimile equipment is immediately transited. Furthermore, when the signal is registered to two types of terminal equipments as the communication terminal equipment and the speech terminal equipment, the automatic changeover of FAX/TEL is conducted or the automatic answering telephone set is activated and when the facsimile equipment detects a CNG signal or a silence state, the FAX reception procedure is transited.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To replace an unnecessary part of an original with white scanning line information by replacing scanning line information which need not be sent with the white scanning line information according to the specification of an operation input means and then carrying out transmission. CONSTITUTION:An operation key 5 is provided to the console panel, etc., of the device so as to specify the unnecessary part of the original in scanning line units at the time of original scanning. An operator operates the operation key 5 at the time of the original scanning to inhibit the unnecessary part of the original from being sent. Then the operator views the back surface of the original 6 during reading to send white codes of one line when the continuous depression of the operation key 5 is requested in a period where the part of the original which need not be sent is scanned and the operator judges that the part being read currently is unnecessary. Consequently, the unnecessary part of the original is sent as white lines.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable data to be preserved in the want of a recording paper, by a method wherein when the paper runs out, the data to be recorded is temporarily recorded on a transfer medium in reverse, and after a recording paper is set the reversed data is recorded on the paper. CONSTITUTION:In a normal printing operation in the presence of a recording paper, a control part 2 sets a change-over signal 11 to a high level. In this manner, print data 10 is inputted to a driver 13 through an AND circuit 15 and an OR circuit 16, and a thermal head 5 is driven by a control signal 12 to conduct printing. When the absence of the recording paper is detected by a sensor 8, the control part 2 sets the change-over signal 11 to a low level. In this manner, the reversed data of the print data 10 is outputted to the driver 13 through an AND circuit 14. In this manner, the print data is outputted after being reversed in the absence of the recording paper. As a result, an image is recorded on an ink sheet with only characters remaining.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a compact a recording device capable of high speed recording a super-high precision by dividing electronic beam sources into blocks of plural sources and recording each block as a single pixel. CONSTITUTION:If a switching element 43 which controls a predetermined electronic beam source 44 on a thermal recording device is turned ON, VCC is applied to an electrode 45 which makes selection in (X) direction and electrons flow out of the electronic beam source. A voltage VP which is higher than VCC is applied to an extraction electrode 46. In addition, VA is applied to an acceleration electrode 47 to give a desired energy to electrons which flow out of the electronic beam source 44. The electrons are ejected from a thermal recording device 41 after transmission through a surface plate 48 by acceleration by an electric field created by the acceleration electrode 47. The electrons retrieved by the thermal recording device act on a heat sensitive paper 42 arranged in close proximity of the surface plate 48, generating heat in the paper 42 for thermal recording.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce crosstalks as well as to facilitate the increase of the area of a dielectric layer, by providing a large number of hole parts in one of the substrates, and electrically connecting the inner side face of each hole part to an electrode on the substrate, while forming the dielectric layer with silicon alkoxide as the main component. CONSTITUTION:A second substrate 2 has a large number of hole parts 6 at positions corresponding to those of a first electrode group 11, with the inner side of each of the hole parts being covered with a side conductor 5, while a second electrode group 12 is set up so as to be electrically connected to the inner side of each hole part. With this constitution, since discharge is independently caused at respective hole parts 6, a crosstalk is preventable. Further, by using a solution obtained by adding a metallic alcoholate to silicon alkoxide which is capable of forming an oxide through polymerization at low temperature, it is possible to easily form a uniform dielectric layer 3 on an electrode surface with large area.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To display fast response while transmissivity is still large by controlling the DC component of an alternating voltage applied to a liquid crystal cell and varying the transmissivity of an optical switch. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal optical switch 1 is a liquid crystal cell which is oriented horizontally by rubbing and has specific thickness and constituted by charging ferroelectric liquid crystal between two glass plates with ITO. A driving part 2, on the other hand, applies alternating voltages XT and YT to the crystal optical switch 1. When the alternating voltages are applied to this crystal optical switch 1, the liquid crystal cell becomes clouded and the transmissivity becomes minimum. Here, when a constant DC bias is added to the AC voltage, the transparency of the liquid crystal cell increases and the transmissivity increases. For the purpose, this DC bias is controlled to vary the transparency of the optical switch. A signal input SIG is turned on and off to control the DC bias applied to an X-side electrode XT.
