    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the degree of freedom in designing the installation position for an optical writing exposure device and to mlniaturize the device by changing the optical path of image light transmitted through a photoreceptive body and forming an image on a photoconductor layer. CONSTITUTION:A laser exposure device 2 for exposing an image is arranged outside the photoreceptive drum 1. An exposure beam E is transmitted through a light- transmissive photoconductor layer 1-3 of the photoreceptive drum 1, a light-transmissive conductive layer 1-2 and a lighttransmissive supporting body 1-1 in this order, and the optical path of the beam E is changed by a reflection mirror 4 as an optical member constituting optical path changing member fixedly arranged at the inner surface of the photoreceptive drum 1, and the beam is made incident on the light- transmissive supporting body 1-1 again in an electrifying, exposuring and developing area as an abutting part of non-magnetic sleeve 5-2 and the photoreceptive drum 1 so as to form the image on the light-transmissive photoconductor layer 1-3. The incident area A for the exposure beam and the position of the developing device 5 are freely set by properly setting not only the position of the exposure beam E which is reflected by the reflection mirror 4 at almost 90 in such a way, but also the angle of the reflection mirror 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic carrier with the surface coated with resin, excellent in durability and toner spending resistance, capable of stably impressing a good charge amt. to the toner over a long period and capable of forming a high-definition picture. CONSTITUTION:This electrophotographic carrier is obtained by coating a core with an insulating resin. The core consists of a ferrite grain contg. strontium, barium and lead, and the coercive force of the grain is controlled to >=300 Gauss in the magnetic field of 10kOe. A styrene-acrylate copolymer is used as the resin to coat the core, the copolymer contains 30-90wt.% acrylic monomer, and the weight average mol.wt. of the copolymer is controlled to about 30,000 to 70,000 and the ratio of the weight average mol.wt. to number average mol.wt. to 2 to 10.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain such a carrier with which little change is caused due to environmental changes and stable images can be obtd. for a long time, and to decrease the deterioration of carrier due to long-term use by coating the carrier with a specified resin. CONSTITUTION:The carrier is coated with a resin, which contains quaternary ammonium salt expressed by formula I and has a domain-matrix structure. In formula I, A is an org. anion, R1-R3 are alkyl groups or aryl groups, R4 is an alkyl group, aryl group or aralkyl group, and the alkyl groups and aralkyl groups may have other substituents. The domain resin particles dispersed in the matrix resin has =15 acid value, while the matrix resin has 50-80 deg.C glass transition point Tg2 and =10 deg.C. The domain resin has a carboxyl group.

I, where R1, R2 are alkyl radical or aryl radical either identical or different, A is organic anion, poly-acid ion, heteropolyacid ion, or halogen, and n is either of 0, 1, 2, 3. This lessens change in the electrostatic charging amount despite changing environment, provides stable image density, and eliminates deterioration of the carrier for example becoming toner spent in the course of long time service.
