    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a picture of high picture quality superior in reproducibility, of an outline at high speed without irregular gradation from inputted binary picture information. SOLUTION: A two level conversion circuit 22 converts binary picture information inputted to an input buffer circuit 21 into two level picture data of the prescribed number of bits. A filter circuit 23 conducts a two-dimensional filtering operation. A pattern judgment circuit 32 judges whether a pixel of interest is included in the outline by comparing it with a prescribed pattern. The output of the input buffer circuit 21 is outputted to the pixel included in the outline and output from the filter circuit 23 to the pixel except for said pixel so as to output them. A irregular record correction circuit 24 corrects irregular record due to the difference of the characteristics of recording elements, conducts pseudo halftone gradation processing and supplies data to a recording head 14.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate multilevel image data and interpolating information corresponding to the variable power rate of binary additional information accompanied with the image data, and to generate black character information or the like before a processing for varying power. SOLUTION: A counter 102 operates addition by using a prescribed additional value corresponding to a pixel interval after varying the power as a unit synchronously with an interpolating pixel clock corresponding to an image after varying the power, and outputs the position data of interpolating pixels. Weighted mean at the pertinent positions is calculated by an invertor 103, multipliers 104 and 105, and adder 109 by using the position data, and this is outputted as the multilevel image data of the pertinent interpolating pixels. On the other hand, the position data from the counter 102 are inputted to comparators 106 and 110, and whether or not black character data inputted with multilevel picture data are succeeded to the pertinent interpolating pixel positions is decided. Then, the black character data corresponding to this result are outputted from an OR gate 112.

An SVP 41 conducts pseudo binarization processing according to a program in a program memory. A controller 42 gives a signal to a mode terminal of the SVP to change an operation mode and controls a selector 43. Prior to the processing in the usual mode, flag setting processing and random number setting processing required for the binarization processing by the SVP are conducted. In the usual processing mode, image data by one line are stored once in a register DIR and all the picture elements are simultaneously processed and after the output is stored in a register DOR at once, the result is outputted sequentially one by one picture element each.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To from and output high-definition image even at the time of forming an image with resolution different from reading resolution by removing information of a prescribed frequency component. SOLUTION: A first operation mode is the one used at the time of copying a normal original image. The second operation mode is the one used for obtaining a secondary output image. In the second operation mode, an optical low-pass filter 20 is arranged on an optical path between an image-forming lens 7 and a color image sensor 8 so as to execute the reading operation of the image. Therefore, when the image is read with the optical low-pass filter, image information is held when a frequency is a cut-off frequency or below but the high frequency component of image information to be the cause of a moire and a nonuniformity is removed. Thus, the position of the optical low- pass filter 20 is changed-over in accordance with the operation mode so that high frequency component of the prescribed frequency or above is cu by considering ink dot resolution and the cause of the moire and the nounifomity is eliminated.

The converted data of YMCK are made binary with a pseudo halftone processing circuit 10 via a gamma-conversion circuit 9, and recorded with a recording head of each color. Herein, a conversion characteristic controlling part 50 judges whether or not a pixel to be watched is positioned near an end part of a recording head and generates a parameter corresponding to each. The output masking circuit 8 receives the parameter, and converts the outputted data of YMCK according to the parameter.
