Abstract: A peristaltic pump, and related system method are provided. The peristaltic pump includes a cam shaft, first and second pinch-valve cams, first and second pinch-valve cam followers, a plunger cam, a plunger-cam follower, a tube receiver, and a spring-biased plunger. The first and second pinch-valve cams are coupled to the cam shaft. The first and second pinch-valve cam followers each engage the first and second pinch-valve cams, respectively. The plunger cam is coupled to the cam shaft. The plunger-cam follower engages the plunger cam. The tube receiver is configured to receive a tube. The spring-biased plunger is coupled to the plunger-cam follower such that the expansion of the plunger cam along a radial angle intersecting the plunger-cam follower as the cam shaft rotates pushes the plunger cam follower towards the plunger and thereby disengages the spring-biased plunger from the tube. A spring coupled to the spring-biased plunger biases the spring-biased plunger to apply the crushing force to the tube.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for regulating fluid flow are disclosed. In an aspect, the apparatus includes first and second elongated support members which cooperate to compress a tube. An actuator in mechanical engagement with the elongated support member(s) actuate the support members toward each other to compress a tube disposed therebetween to regulate flow of fluid within the tube. The actuation is in accordance with an approximate generalized logistic function or an approximate nonlinear function.

Abstract: A medical device system is disclosed. The medical device system includes a first medical device and a second medical device. A remote interface including a touch screen is also included. The remote interface is in wireless communication with at least the first medical device. The remote interface is configured to provide a user interface to at least the first medical device. The remote interface is configured to receive user input through a touch screen. The remote interface may communicate with the second medical device through the first medical device. A charging device is included. The charging device is configured to receive at least the first medical device and the remote interface and the charging device is configured to recharge a first medical device battery and the charging device is configured to recharge an interface battery in the remote interface. The charging device is connected to a personal computer wherein the personal computer provides information to the remote interface. The remote interface may communicate with the computer through an internet connection.

Abstract: A peristaltic pump and related system and method are disclosed. The peristaltic pump includes a plunger configured to actuate toward and away from a tube, a cam follower coupled to the plunger, a compression spring biasing the plunger toward the tube, a cam configured to actuate the plunger away from the tube and configured to mechanically disengage from the cam follower; a position sensor configured to determine a position of the plunger; and a processor coupled to the position sensor, configured to estimate fluid flow of fluid within the tube utilizing the position of the plunger as indicated by the position sensor.
