Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an improving agent containing a specific polymer water-soluble salt as a main component and further polyethylene glycol, good in the compacting property, rapid in stabilization, excellent in efficiency for compacting sandy soil, enabling labor saving, and capable of shortening a time required for construction. CONSTITUTION: This improving agent comprises (A) one or more kinds of the water-soluble salts of the homopolymers and copolymers of (i) an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid [preferably (meth)acrylic acid] and (ii) an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid (preferably maleic acid, fumaric acid, itaconic acid), and (B) polyethylene glycol (preferably having a mol.wt. of 5000-500000). The components A and B are preferably used in an A/B weight ratio of (5-95)/(95-5), and the objective improving agent is preferably used in an amount of e.g. 0.01-1 pt.wt. based on the weight of earth and sand.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain an earth and sand compaction improver which mainly comprises sorbitol or the like and a surfactant and shows a prescribed surface tension when they are dissolved in water, and is useful in civil engineering and construction works because it can shorten the job period and improves the compaction of earth and sand and is improved in filling properties and improves power saving. CONSTITUTION: This compaction improver mainly comprises (A) sorbitol or dextrin and (B) a surfactant among sorbitan fatty acid esters such as sorbitan laurate and shows a surface tension of 14-45dyne/cm as its aqueous solution. The weight ratio of the components A/B preferably ranges within (10-90)/(90-10).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the cement admixture for improving the fluidity of a hydraulic composition and the set retarding property by using the cocondensate of polyoxyalkylenealkyl phenol and a substance condensable with formaldehyde or its neutralized salt as the main component of the admixture. CONSTITUTION:The cocondensate of one or >=2 kinds of compds. shown by the formula and a substance condensable with formaldehyde or its neutralized salt is used as the main component of the cement admixture. In the formula, R1 is a 1-3C straight or branchedchain alkyl, AO is a 2-3C oxyalkylene group, and (n) is an integer of 30 to 100. The compd. shown by the formula is polyoxyalkylenealkylphenol, and the addition product of 100-300 mols of an oxyalkylene group to phenol, cresol, ethylphenol, etc., is exemplified. A benzene ring derivative or a naphthalene ring derivative is preferably used as the cocondensable substance.

CONSTITUTION:The copolymer having the weight-average molecular weight of 1000-500000 is obtained by polymerizing the monomer (a) of a dehydrogenation reaction product of a one terminal alkyl blocked polyalkylene glycol expressed by formula I (each of R1 and R2 is hydrogen or methyl, M1 is 0-2, AO is a 2-3C oxyalkylene, (n) is 50-100 and X is H or a 1-3C alkyl) with (metha)acrylic acid or a fatty acid, or an ethylene oxide or propylene oxide adduct (the mol number of adduct part is 50-100) to this dehydrogenation reaction product and one or more kinds of the monomers (b) selected from the compounds expressed by formula II and III (each of R3-R5 is H, methyl or (CH2)m2COOM2, R6 is H or methyl, each of M1, M2 and Y is an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium, an alkylammonium and m2 is 0-2) in the reaction unit of (a)/(b)=1/99-80/20 (mol ratio).

CONSTITUTION:A concrete admixture comprises a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a compound of formula I or formula II with a compound of formula III as an essential component. In the formula, R1 to R5 are H or methyl; R6 and R7 are group of formula TV, H or methyl; m1 to m3 are 0-2; n1 and n3 is 4-100; X1 and X2 are H or 1-3C alkyl; AO is 2-4C oxyalkylene group; SO is oxystyrene group; M1 and M2 are H, monovalent metal, ammonium group, amino group or substituted amino group. This concrete admixture takes balance of hydrophilic nature/hydrophobic nature of dispersant and surface mixing properties into account and styrene oxide is added to the root of ester or end of ethylene oxide and the copolymer is made hydrophobic and to strengthen foams and to stabilize foams.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a hydraulic compsn. having high fluidity, large separation resistance and high packing efficiency by controlling the compsn. to have specified ranges of slump flow value and specific gravity and incorporating foams of surfactant soln. The mixed at. of foams to the hydraulic compsn. is determined as the volume of foams so as to obtain 1.50-2.00 specific gravity of the compsn. As for the surfactant, esters of alkyl fatty acid, etc., in a single or mixture state of two or more kinds may be used. Foams of the surfactant soln. are added after each material is brought into contact with water. The slump flow value of the obtd. compsn. is >45cm.
