SOLUTION: The dispersion maintaining agent for hydraulic composition comprises a copolymer obtained by polymerization of specified monomers 1 of the general formula (1) together with specified monomers 2 of the general formula (2) whose corresponding alcohol compound satisfies a specified property requirement. In the constituent monomers of the above copolymer, the ratio of the monomers 1 is within a specified range, and a specified monomer is used as at least some of the monomers 2, and the ratio of monomer having an acid group or a group resulting from neutralization thereof is ≤5 wt.%.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a flow property and current retention property of a hydraulic composition by using a cement dispersant composed mainly of a specific formaldehyde co-condensate. CONSTITUTION:A formaldehyde co-condensate having a weight average molecular weight of 3000-100000 is obtained by reacting 5-95wt.% of the reaction product obtained from anlamino acid, an aromatic compound and 0.5-1.5 mole of formaldehyde with 95-5wt.% of a material of formula I or formula II (R1 to R4 are H or 1-3C alkyl; A1O and A2O are 2-3C oxyalkylene; n1 and n22 are 1-100) which is co-condensable with formaldehyde. The formaldehyde co- condensate is compounded with 5-95wt.% of a concrete dispersant, e.g. a co- condensate of naphthalene sulfonic acid salt with formaldehyde to obtain a cement dispersant. The cement is compounded with 0.05-3.0wt.% of the cement dispersant.

Then, (B) a water-soluble polymer 1000-50000 in molecular weight made up of constituent unit of the formula [A1 and B are each-COOZ (Z is H, etc.)] is prepared by amidation of a polymer formed by polymerizing at least one compound selected from acrylic acid, etc., through radical polymerization process. The objective concrete admixture is composed of 30-95wt.% of the component A and 70-5wt.% of the component B.
