    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composition which does not undergo any change in properties and dimension upon absorption of moisture and is excellent in impact resistance and an appearance of a molding, by mixing a polyamide resin with a specified modified polypropylene and a modified ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition comprises 95-50wt.% polyamide resin (A), 5-45wt.% modified polypropylene (B) obtained by grafting 0.05-5pts.wt. alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or its derivative onto 100pts.wt. polypropylene and 1-25wt.% modified ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer (C) obtained by grafting 0.05-5pts.wt. alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or its derivative onto 100pts.wt. ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer, wherein the composition of said component (A), (B) and (C) satisfies the formulas: (A)+(B)+(C)=100wt.% and (B)/(C)>=1.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cooling fan for automobile having heat-resistance, rigidity, toughness and resistance to traffic antifreezing agent, by molding a mixture composed of a polyamide such as nylon 6, a higher polyamide such as nylon 11 and an inorganic reinforcing material. CONSTITUTION:The composition for the objective fan is produced by (1) mixing (A) 5-95wt.%, preferably 20-80wt.% of a polyamide containing capramide and/or hexamethylene adipamide as main constituent units (e.g. nylon 6 or nylon 66) and (B) 5-95wt.%, preferably 20-80wt.% of a polyamide (e.g. nylon 11) produced by the melt-polymerization of one or more compounds selected from 11-12C aliphatic amino acid, lactam and an equimolar salt of a 6-12C aliphatic diamine and a 6-12C aliphatic carboxylic acid and (2) compounding 100pts.wt. of the mixture produced by the above method with (C) 0-100pts.wt. of an inorganic filler (e.g. glass fiber).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyamide foam is good balance between such physical properties as strength, rigidity and surface appearance, by anionic polymerization of anhydrous lactam in the presence of an azo compound as the foaming agent having specific decomposition characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyamide foam can be obtained by anionic polymerization of (A) 100pts.wt. of anhydrous lactam, pref. epsilon-caprolactam or its mixture with minor amount of another omega-lactam in the presence of (B) 0.01-10(pref. 0.1-5)pts.wt. of an azo compound giving a half life 10hr with a decomposition temperature 50-170(pref. 66-160) deg.C [e.g., 2,2'-azobis(2,4-dimethyl valeronitrile), (1-phenylethyl)azo diphenylmethane] using 0.1-3mol. of a catalyst (e.g., lithium hydride) and 0.01-5mol. of an activator (e.g., acetyl caprolactam) (each based on the component A).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain stably a polyamide from a monomer mixture comprising specified components, by reacting a diamine (mixture) with a dicarboxylic acid (mixture) in an aqueous medium in specified reaction conditions. CONSTITUTION:A diamine (mixture) (A) is obtained by mixing 100-17wt% at least one diamine (a) selected from among the alicyclic diamines of formulas I-IV [wherein x and y are each 0-5, z is 0-3, and R1-2 are each (CH2)x or a 2-5C branched alkylene] with 0-83wt% 4-12C linear aliphatic diamine (b). Separately, a dicarboxylic acid (mixture) (B) is obtained by mixing 100-20wt% isophthalic acid (c) with 0-80wt% terephthalic acid (d). 100pts.wt. starting material comprising components A and B in equimolar amounts is subjected to homogenization reaction at 150-240 deg.C and a steam pressure of 5-30kg/cm G for 0.5-5.0hr in an aqueous medium (C), prepolymerization at 200-280 deg.C and a steam pressure of 10kg/cm G, and polymerization at 250-350 deg.C and a steam pressure of 5-15kg/cm G. After the reaction, the formed polymer is discharged from the exit on the bottom of the polymerization kettle by the steam pressure.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composite resin containing molecular chains of polyamide and polyolefin entangled with each other and having excellent molding fluidity and physical properties, by carrying out the melting and kneading of a polyolefin with a polyamide simultaneous to the modification of the polyolefin in the presence of a specific modifying agent and an organic peroxide. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a mixture of (A) 50-95wt.%, preferably 60-90wt.% polyamide resin (e.g. nylon 6) having a relative viscosity of 1.5-5 and (B) 5-50wt.%, preferably 10-40wt.% polyolefin having a melt index of 0.05-50g/10min is compounded with (C) 0.02-5pts.wt., preferably 0.07-1pt.wt. of an alpha,beta-unsaturated imide compound (e.g. N-cyclohexylmaleimide), (D) 0.01-3 pts.wt., preferably 0.05-0.8pt.wt. of an alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid (anhy dride) compound (e.g. acrylic acid) and (E) 0.001-0.8pt.wt., preferably 0.008-0.2pt.wt. of an organic peroxide, and the mixture is kneaded under melt ing.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent strength, rigidity, heat resistance and dimensional stability, by blending a polyamide resin with a specified phenolic resin org. filler. CONSTITUTION:A phenolic resin precursor obtd. by reacting a mixture of hydrochloric acid and formaldehyde with phenols is heat-treated in an inert gas stream or under reduced pressure at 150-350 deg.C for 10min to 24hr to obtain a phenolic resin org. filler (B) which has a solubility of 5wt% or below in alcohols, is not substantially dissolved or decomposed at room temp. to 300 deg.C and has a halogen content of 1,000ppm or below. 50-95wt% polyamide resin (A) having a reduced viscosity (in sulfuric acid) of 1.5-4.5 (e.g., polyhexamethyleneadipamide) is blended with 50-5wt% component B in the form of a pellet, a piece or a powder. If desired, a reinforcing material, a pigment, a heat-proofing agent, an antioxidant, a lubricant, and other polymers may be added.
