    Abstract: The present invention relates to a biaxially oriented polyester film comprising at least three polyester resin layers A1/B/A2, and having a melting point in the range of 246 to 270°C, wherein the major component of the layer A is polyethylene terephthalate and the stress at 100% elongation in the film's longitudinal direction and width direction at 150°C and 200°C meets the following equations: 2 ‰ (F100 MD +F100 TD ) ‰ 100 and 1 ‰ F100 TD ‰ 60. The invention provides a film that has a high dimensional stability at high temperatures to permit uniform metal deposition, suffers little change in appearance during thermoforming, and serves for easy production of formed parts that closely meet the shape of the die when subjected to low-stress forming.

AND BEING SUCH THAT WHEN THE LAMINATE IS FORMED INTO A CAN, THEN AT A NECK OF THE CAN THE FILM PROVIDES AN INNER 1 TO 3 mM PORTION (A) CLOSE TO THE METALLIC SHEET AND AN OUTER 1-3 mM PORTION (B) REMOTE FROM THE METALLIC SHEET, WHICH SAID PORTIONS (A) AND (B) HAVE RESPECTIVE AVERAGE ORIENTATION INTENSITY RATIOS, AS MEASURED BY RAMAN SPECTROMETRY, OF 6 OR LESS AND 8 OR MORE; AND (2) A POLYESTER LAYER (A) OF A POLYESTER HAVING AT LEAST 93 MOL THEREOF OF UNITS DERIVED FROM ETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE AND/OR ETHYLENE NAPHTHALATE AND A POLYESTER LAYER (B) OF A POLYESTER CONTAINING AN IONOMER AND WHICH FILM HAS A FACE ORIENTATION FACTOR OF 0.10 TO 0.15.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyester composition, comprising 0.5 to 300 ppm, as titanium atoms, of a compound oxide (A) containing titanium as an essential element and also containing a metal element selected from a group consisting of aluminum, zirconium, germanium, tin and silicon, and 0.001 to 40 wt% of particles with an average particle size of 0.01 to 10 mu m, and also to a method of production thereof, and a film composed of said polyester composition. The polyester composition of the present invention is excellent in moldability and heat resistance and solves such problems as die contamination, filtration pressure rise and yarn breaking in the production of such moldings as fibers, films and bottles. Furthermore, the polyester film of the present invention is suitable for packaging, being excellent in taste property and long-term storage quality, and can be suitably used for packaging materials, above all for being formed, especially for being laminated and formed with a substrate such as paper, nonwoven fabric or metal, to make containers, etc.
