    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a flame-retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition having excellent flame retardance, mechanical characteristics, fluidity in injection molding and color tone of molding, hardly causing bleedout, having excellent hydrolysis resistance by compounding a polybutylene terephthalate resin with a nonhalogen-based flame retardant and a molding. SOLUTION: This flame-retardant butylene terephthalate resin composition is obtained by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polybutylene terephthalate resin or 100 pts.wt. of the total of the polybutylene terephthalate resin and a polyethylene terephthalate resin with (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of a vinyl-based resin, (C) 1-100 pts.wt. of a phosphoric ester, (D) 1-150 pts.wt. of a salt of a triazine- based compound and cyanuric acid or isocyanuric acid and (E) 0.1-10 pts.wt. of an alkaline earth metal compound.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fluidity, characteristics of moisture and heat resistance and flame retardancy at injection molding, inhibiting bleed out and reduction of mechanical strength when treating in a high temperature and high humidity state by containing a polybutylene terephthalate resin, red phosphorus and an epoxy resin having a specified epoxy equivalent. SOLUTION: The flame retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition is obtained by compounding 0.1-50 pws.wt of red phosphorus having 50-0.01 μm average particle size and 0.1-1000 μs/cm conductivity and 0.1-50 pts.wt. an epoxy resin having a 500-5000 epoxy equivalent, to 100 pts.wt. of a polybutylene terephthalate resin having 0.36-1.60 of intrinsic viscosity (in o- chlorophenol solvent at 25 deg.C) and 1-50 eq/l of a COOH terminal group amount calculated from potentiometric titration of m-cresol solution using an alkaline solution. In this resin composition, it is desirable to compound 1-150 pts.wt. of a polyester resin and 1-150 pts.wt. of a polycarbonate resin to 100 pts.wt. of the polybutylene terephthalate resin.
