    Abstract: Provided is a diol composition comprising a diol as a major component, and at least one additional substance that contributes to the electrical conductivity of the composition as a minor component, wherein the electrical conductivity of the composition is 0.6-30 mS/m. The diol in the composition may be ethylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, 1,2-propanediol, 1,3-butanediol, 1,4-butanediol, or 2,3-butanediol. The minor component may be an organic acid, such as propionic acid. Further provided is polyester made from the composition and a dicarboxylic acid.

    Abstract: Poly(lactic acid) polymer compositions of the invention each contain an appropriate poly(lactic acid) polymer and a suitable plasticizer having a polyether and/or polyester segment in combination, exhibit satisfactory flexibility and show very small amount of the evaporation, migration and extraction (bleedout) of the plasticizer and losing transparency upon heating. The poly(lactic acid) polymer compositions of the invention are useful as formed plastics such as films.

    Abstract: A resin composition comprising a biodegradable resin (A), a polyolefin resin (B) and a dispersing agent (C), which has a sea-isle structure in which the biodegradable resin (A) is dispersed as isles in the polyolefin resin (B) existing as a sea component, wherein the average dispersed particle size of the biodegradable resin (A) is 1 nm to 1000 nm. The resin composition of this invention contains a biodegradable resin low in environmental load such as polylactic acid, and can provide a molded article at productivity equivalent to that of presently available molded polyolefin articles, which has a moisture-proof property, dimensional stability, etc. equivalent to those of the presently available molded polyolefin articles.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a thermoplastic resin composition excellent in fluidity and mechanical characteristics. A preferred embodiment of this thermoplastic res in composition is also excellent in low warping property, laser transmission and laser weldability. Also disclosed is a molded article of such a thermop lastic resin composition. Specifically disclosed is a thermoplastic resin co mposition obtained by blending 0.1-4 parts by weight of a multifunctional co mpound (B) having three or more functional groups, wherein at least one term inal structure having a functional group includes an alkylene oxide unit, pe r 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin (A). The thermoplastic resin (A) is preferably composed of one or more resins selected from polyester res ins and polycarbonate resins. Also specifically disclosed is a molded articl e of such a thermoplastic resin composition.
