SOLUTION: Nylon 6 formed bodies comprising automobile resin parts that are composed of nylon 6 in an amount of >=90 wt.%, preferably >=95 wt.% of the total organic compounds in the formed bodies are depolymerized to obtain ε-caprolactam with the result that the nylon 6 resin formed bodies are recycled. Underhood parts are extremely suited to such an automobile resin part, and concretely, it is a cylinder head cover, an engine mount, an engine cover, a cover-cover, an oil pan, an air cleaner or the like. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition having high frame-retardancy and causing little bleed-out of the flame-retardant and lowering of the deflection temperature under load caused by the flame-retardant by adding a phosphorus- containing phenolic resin in combination with a specific compound to a thermoplastic resin. SOLUTION: This composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin (preferably a polyester resin) with (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of a phosphorus-containing phenolic resin and (C) 1-100 pts.wt. of a cyanuric acid salt or an isocyanuric acid salt of a triazine compound (preferably melamine, benzoguanamine or acetoguanamine). The component B is preferably a phenolic resin composed of the unit of formula I or formula II (R and R are each H or a 1-5C alkyl; (x) and (y) are each mol% of each of the unit of formula I and formula II in the polymer and x+y is 100). The resin can be produced e.g. by adding a phosphoric acid ester monohalide to a phenolic resin and subjecting the mixture to dehydrohalogenation reaction. The composition is preferably further incorporated with a non-halogenic flame-retardant to improve the flame-retardancy.

This compd. may be synthesized as follows. A phosphorus compd. represented by formula II (wherein X represents a halogen; and R represents H or a 1-5C alkyl) and an arom. biphenyl represented by formula III (wherein Ar represents phenyl or phenyl substd. by a halogen-free org. residue) are heated at 100 to 250 deg.C in a first stage of polymn. and heated under reduced pressure at a temp. of 250 deg.C or below in a second stage of polymn.

CONSTITUTION: This composition is composed of (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin (preferably, a thermoplastic polyester resin such as polybutylene terephthalate or a mixture of the resin with a phenoxy resin) and (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of a polyphosphate consisting of constructing units of formula I (Ar is a divalent aromatic residual group; R1 is a 1-12C alkyl, an aryl, etc.; n expresses a number-average molecular weight and is >=40) (preferably, a hydroquinone-type polyphosphate of formula II). The component B is generally obtained by polycondensing phosphoric acid dichloride with a bisphenol. Preferably, the composition is further compounded with a salt of (iso)cyanuric acid with melamine, benzoguanamine or acetoguanamine.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a flame retardant for synthetic resins which is prepared by coating specific flame retardants with a specific not-triazine oligomers or polymer, thus is excellent in resistance to hydrolysis and to humid heat without liberation of hazardous gases. CONSTITUTION:(A) A flame retardant of more than 1g/100g solubility in water at 20 deg.C (preferably a phosphorus-containing compound of ammonium polyphosphate and/or polyphosphoramide) is coated with (B) non-triazine oligomers or polymer of 15-60dyne/cm critical surface tension at 20 deg.C, preferably a fluorine oligomer or polymer such as polytetrafluoroethylene to give this flame retardant. Further, said flame retardant, preferably in less than 100mum particle sizes is dispersed in a synthetic resin such as polyolefin to give this flame retardant composition. Additionally, it is preferred that this composition be further combined with a salt from a compound of the formula (R -R are each H, an aryl; R is H, an aryl) and (iso)cyanuric acid.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a new polyarylene sulfide sulfone polymer of excellent heat resistance. CONSTITUTION:A polyarylene sulfide sulfone of a melt viscosity of 0.20-0.60, obtained by reacting an aromatic dihalosulfone with a bisphenol fluorene, an alkali metal salt and a source of sulfur. An aromatic dihalosulfone is reacted with bisphenol fluorene in a molar ratio of 99/1-60/40 in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide or an alkyl metal salt in an organic amide solvent and/or an organic sulfone solvent to form an oligomer containing halogen atoms at both ends. A least one source of sulfur selected from among an alkali metal sulfide, an alkali metal hydrosulfide and hydrogen sulfide is added to the reaction mixture and reacted with the oligomer at 175-235 deg.C for 1-20hr. Thus, a resin having a high glass transition temperature and excellent heat decomposition resistance can be obtained. This process is industrially advantageous in that a polymer having a high glass transition temperature which can be varied can be obtained.
