Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain polyester type fibers having improved coloring properties, by providing polyester type fibers with specific hollows uncontinuously so that a specified surface configuration is formed on it. CONSTITUTION:For example, polyester type fibers (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate, etc.) containing 0.1-5wt% inorganic particles (e.g., aluminum oxide-containing silicon oxide, etc.) having an average primary particle diameter =10% sum of area of the hollow parts based on the total fiber surface area, and >=3% hollow volume based on total fiber volume.

Abstract: PURPOSE:An isophthalic acid bearing an alkali sulfonate group is copolymerized and specific inert inorganic fine particles are included to give polyester fibers, which are strongly twisted and treated with an alkali to improve the color-developing property markedly. CONSTITUTION:Polyester fibers containing (A) 0.1-4wt%, preferably 0.3-2wt%, of inert and inorganic fine particles with an average primary particle size of less than 5mu, preferably less than 100mmu, selected from the groups consisting of silicon- containing inorganic fine particles, oxides and salts of metals of Group II in the periodic table, aluminum oxide, thorium oxide and zirconium oxide and and (B) 1-7mol%, based on the total dicarboxylic acids, of an isophthalic acid bearing an alkali sulfonate group are strongly twisted, preferably to 5,500-25,000 twisting number or falsely twisted. Then, the fibers are treated with an alkali, preferably reduced in weight by 10-30% to give the objective fibers.
