Abstract: A polyester fiber having a tenacity of at least 4.0 g/d comprises a copolyester having a degree of polymerization of from 80 to 100 of which copolyester 1.0 to 2.0 mol % of its acid component is metal sulfoisophthalic residues, 0.5 to 1.9 weight % of the copolyester being glycol residues provided by a glycol having a molecular weight of from 400 to 6000. The polyester fiber is readily dyed with basic dyes. The polyester fiber can be prepared by spinning the copolyester at a shear rate of ≤10 4 sec -1 , a spinning draft ratio of s250, a back pressure of the spinneret of ≥40kg/cm 2 and a shear stress of ≤(Q+0.7)×10 7 dynes/cm 2 , where Q is the mass output rate per single hole (g/min).

Abstract: Method for producing an interlaced multifilament yarn by rubbing and scratching a material multifilament yarn with a rotary rough surface member and with such intensity that individual filaments constituting the filament yarn are not substantially broken, the rotary surface member having projections which are smaller than the cross-sectional diameter of the individual filaments of the material yarn; diffusing a jetted fluid which is jetted in the yarn running direction along a predetermined yarn passage from a jetting aperture of a supply conduit through a nozzle formed with a rectifying and diffusing portion having a substantially uniform cross-section, and impinging the diffused jetted fluid against the running material multifilament yarn so that the individual filaments of the multifilament yarn mostly vibrate in a direction substantially parallel to a plane defined by the yarn running direction and the fluid jetting direction, the vibration taking place in a section of the yarn passage facing the rectifying and diffusing portion.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melt blow spinning method resolving a shot generated by cap soil in the melt blowing method without changing the cap by taking off. SOLUTION: In a melt blow spinning method heat-melting a thermoplastic resin, extruding the melt from an orifice 2 in a nozzle 1 and attenuating the melt by jetting a heated gas from an air lip 3 disposed in the vicinity of an open end of the orifice 2, soil attached to the nozzle 1 or its peripheral member is cleaned by moving the air lip 3 and the air lip 3 is returned to the original position, then the spinning is continued.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an acrylic nonwoven fabric having both water and oil absorptivities and capable of easily wiping off aqueous oil suspension therefrom by imparting an acrylic fiber nonwoven fabric with a hydrophilic copolymer of a specific acrylate monomer and acrylonitrile. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, an emulsion polymerization is conducted between 50-90wt.% of a acrylate monomer of the formula (R is H or CH3; X is OH, 20) and 10-50wt.% of acrylonitrile to produce a hydrophilic polymer. An acrylic fiber nonwoven fabric comprising fibers having

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject molded product high in flexural strength and excellent in impact resistance, dimensional stability and fire resistance by adding acrylic fibers comprising a specific acrylonitrile polymer to a basic raw material comprising a hydraulic substance and silica. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. of a basic raw material comprising >=10 pts.wt. of a hydraulic substance and >=10 pts.wt. of crystalline silica (e.g. silica powder or quartz sand) having an average particle diameter of =8.0g/d and a fiber length of 2-10mm and 10-25 pts.wt. (per 100 pts.wt. of the whole solid compounding materials including not only the hydraulic substance but also silica, etc.,) of water, molded by a dry molding method, and subsequently cured in an autoclave at 140-182 deg.C for 3-50hr to provide the objective molded product having a specific flexural strength [obtained by multiplying a flexural strength by the second power of 1.8/specific gravity] of >=140kg/cm . The acrylic fibers are produced by spinning an acrylonitrile polymer having an intrinsic viscosity of 1.8-5.0 by a dry-wet type spinning method and subsequently highly drawing the spun fibers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent cracks in calcining and stably obtain a precursor fiber from the subject pitch by discharging the pitch while applying a whirling stream thereto on the upstream side of a spinneret hole. CONSTITUTION:A block 3 having pitch introduction holes 4 is engaged to provide a spinneret introduction hole part 11, which is then installed in a spinneret member 2. The whole is subsequently attached to the lower end of a spinning pack 1 with a spinneret fixing member 10. Molten pitch is then fed from an introduction hole 4, passed through the block 3 in the longitudinal direction, fed to the bottom of the introduction hole part 11, advanced along the bottom, passed through a vortex generating part 6 and spun through a spinneret hole 5 while being whirled to afford the aimed fiber.
