    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fibers having high strength and good uniformity, by melt extruding a thermoplastic polyester polymer through a spinneret, cooling the extruded filaments to the glass transition temperature or below, and hot drawing the cooled filaments in a heating zone where a heated gas passed through a wire net and rectified is passed. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester polymer, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, is melt extruded through a spinneret, and the resultant filaments (Y) are cooled once to the glass transition temperature or, below passed further through a heated zone, e.g. a heated cylinder 1, and hot drawn in the heated zone. In the process, a heated gas at 10-80Nl/min flow rate is supplied from a heated gas supply part 3 and introduced into the heated zone while passed through a wire net 4 of 20 mesh or above and rectified, and the filament yarn is taken off at >=3,000m/min taking off speed to give the aimed fibers.
