Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having high elastic modulus and low shrinkage, by dividing spun polyamide yarn having high polymerization degree into multiple stages, drawing the yarn at a specific draw ratio corresponding to more than a specific fraction of total draw ratio and heat-treating the drawn yarn under application of fractional stretches divided into multiple stages. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide having high polymerization degree (relative viscosity of >=3.0 in sulfuric acid) is melted in a spinning machine, extruded through a spinneret and solidified by cooling. The undrawn fiber is divided into >=2 stages after optional temporary winding and drawn at a draw ratio corresponding to >=80% of the total draw ratio. The drawn fiber is heat-treated under application of fractional stretches divided into plural stages to obtain the objective fiber suitable for woven fabric for reinforcement of a large-sized tire. The first-stage drawing is preferably carried out at a draw ratio of >=65% of the total draw ratio under fractional stretches divided into plural stages.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain polyester fibers satisfying mechanical properties and uniformity fit for practical use, by cooling a melt extruded polymer at the glass transition temperature or below, and passing the resultant extruded fibers through a specific heating zone. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester filament yarn once cooled to the glass transition temperature or below is passed through a heating zone, e.g. a heating cylinder 1, satisfying the following relation; D>=D0+10mm.phi, L>=30mm. and Q>= 9,400mm. (D is the diameter of the supply part 2 for the heating gas; D0 is the yarn path diameter in the heating zone; L is the length of the supply part 2 for the heating gas; Q is the volume of the supply part 2 for the heating gas) while introducing the heating gas from the supply part 2 for the heating gas through holes 4 at 10-80Nl/min into the heating cylinder 1 and then taken off at >=3,000 m/min take-off speed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:A thermoplastic polyester is melt-extruded, allowed to run through a heating zone where a hot gas is introduced through a specific straightening filter and heat drawing is effected, then the yarn is wound up to give the titled fiber of good mechanical properties and good uniformily. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate is melt extruded through the spinneret into a yarn Y, which is cooled down with air beneath its glass transition point. Then, the cooled yarn Y is allowed to run through the heating zone in the cylinder 1 where stream-straightening filters 4 satisfying equation I (X is absolute filtration diameter) and equation II (L is the length of straightening filter) are arranged so that they surround the yarn path and hot fluide of inert gas is introduced through the filters at a flow rate of 10-80Nl/min to effect non-contact heat drawing. The resultant yarn is taken up at a speed higher than 3,000m/min to give the objective fiber.

The distance (l4) between the two interlacing nozzles (5a) and (5b) is set at >=20cm, preferably >=30cm, and a guide 4 for stopping vibration propagation to prevent the propagation of yarn vibration is preferably provided.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled uniform fiber, stably, by melt-spinning a thermoplastic polyester polymer through a spinneret, cooling below the glass transition temperature, drawing in a hot zone heated with hot gas introduced actively into the zone at a specific flow rate, and winding at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester polymer is subjected to the melt spinning through a spinneret, and cooled to a temperature below the glass transition temperature. The obtained yarn Y is transferred through a hot zone to effect the thermal drawing in the zone. In the above process, the heating cylinder 1 is furnished with plural small holes 3 and a hot-gas-supplying part 2 surrounding said holes 3, and the heating zone is heated with the electric heater 4. Hot gas satisfying the formula T>=Tg+10 [T is the temperature of the hot gas ( deg.C), and Tg is the glass transition temperature of the polymer] and the formula 10 =3,000m/min to obtain the objective fiber.
