Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a longitudinally orienting step and to suppress damage of a film surface and contamination of a roll by cooling to solidify melted polyester in a sheet-like state, then uniaxially orienting by a specific draw rate at a first stage and then orienting it in a direction perpendicular to the orienting direction. SOLUTION: After melted polyester is cooled to be solidified in a sheet-like state, it is oriented 4.5 times or more in one direction in an orienting zone of a first stage, and then oriented in a lateral direction. After biaxially orienting, it is heat treated. In this case, the polyester sheet is preferably initially oriented at a temperature of glass transition temperature (Tg1) of the film immediately before the orienting to 30 deg.C higher than the Tg1. And, it is preferable to use plasticizing material to upgrade its stretchability. As the material, gas at the ambient temperature and ordinary pressure or water vaporized at 100C or higher in a heat treating step and evaporating out of the film is used.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a thin film having strength not only in one direction but in the rectangular direction as well by performing a planar orientation of a high degree, by a method wherein a film is formed in such a manner that a ratio between the peak strengths in the orientation main axial direction and the rectangular direction and the peak strength in the thickness direction, which are measured by a laser Raman scattering method, may become a specified value. SOLUTION: For this biaxially stretched polyester film which is useful as a base film for magnetic tape, etc., the film is formed in such a manner that a ratio between the peak strengths in the orientation main axial direction and the rectangular direction and the peak strength in the thickness direction at 1615 cm , which are measured by a laser Raman scattering method, may become 5 or higher. Also, the strength ratio is, preferably, 7 or higher, and the upper limit is made approx. 48. Then, the biaxially stretched polyester film is molten and made non-oriented, and after rapidly solidifying, a crystallization heating peak temperature in a temperature rising curve is measured by DSC, and the film is formed by making the crystallization heating peak temperature 154 deg.C or lower, more preferably, 135 deg.C or lower. In this case, the intrinsic viscosity of the film is preferable to be 0.65 dl/g or higher.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film which can be given a random magnetic signal with an individually different pattern and which is useful for obtaining a card expected to have a remarkable forgery prevention effect by incorporating, into the same, a magnetic material of which a part in a specified proportion forms an aggregate. SOLUTION: A magnetic material (e.g. γ-iron oxide) of which at least 50vol.%, pref. at least 70vol.%, still pref. at least 90vol.%, forms an aggregate 2 is used here. The aggregate 2 is formed pref. at least from a magnetic material, a matrix polymer 1 (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate), and a polymer (e.g. polybutylene terephthalate) which is different from the matrix polymer or a polymer which is of the same kind as the matrix polymer but has a different mol.wt. Pref., the aggregate 2 contains at least 5vol.%. still pref. 10-90vol.%, magnetic material in terms of the S/N ratio of magnetic signal. Pref. at least one layer of a laminate film comprising at least two layers contains the aggregate.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make forgery and alteration of a card difficult by specifying specific permittivity and apparent density of a film composite material obtained by adhesively laminating a film at least on one side surface of a porous base material, thereby performing low permittivity. SOLUTION: This film composite material is a laminate obtained by adhering a film at least on one side surface of a porous base material. And, the air is contained in the laminate to lower its specific permittivity or a random structure is given by the porous base material. This composite material has specific permittivity of 1.2 to 2.8, and apparent density of 0.3 to 1.3g/cm . As the porous base material, cloth having METSUKE amount (weight per square meter) of particularly 5 to 200g/m is more preferable from the viewpoint of folding crease resistance and strength. As material of the film, particularly polyethylene terephthalate has excellent electrical and mechanical characteristics and can be preferably used.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a film excellent in gas barrier properties and high in the Young's modulus at a high speed by stretching an extruded molten polyamide by using a cooling drum held to a specific surface temp. range and having surface max. roughness of a specific value or less. SOLUTION: Extruded polyamide molten matter is brought into close contact with a cast drum held to surface temp. of 60-140 deg.C to be cooled and solidified. The surface material quality of a cooling drum is formed by amorphous chromium plating from an aspect of cracklessness, high hardness or ultra-smoothness and the surface max. roughness thereof is set to 2μm or less and an oligomer and/or monomer at a time of casting is hard to adhere and a crater is hard to generate on a surface even at a time of high speed casting, post-ductility is enhanced and a film can be produced at 300m/min or higher. As a polyamide raw material, there are a single polyamide raw material with relative viscosity of 2.5-5.5, and the raw material blended with other compd., for example, a liquid crystal polymer or other polyamide resin.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce the melt viscosity of a film at its extrusion and remarkably lower its heat generated by shearing and its extrusion torque irrespective of the level of its intrinsic viscosity by a method wherein the film is produced by dispersing a copolyester, in the main chain of which mesogenic groups are included, in a non-liquid crystalline polyester. SOLUTION: Polyester stock prepared by dispersing a copolyester, in the main chain of which mesogenic groups are included, in a non-liquid crystalline polyester is charged in a melt extruder for film-making. The dispersing method of the copolyester is performed by mixing chips and then melt-extruding the mixture under nitrogen sealing with a vent type twin-screw knead extruder. The copolyester, in the main chain of which mesogenic groups (the structural unit of liquid crystallizability) are included, is a melt-moldable polymer and either liquid crystalline polyester or non-liquid crystalline polyester will do. Concretely, a polyester, which is composed of the structural unit selected from the group consisting of an aromatic oxycarbonyl unit, aromatic oxy unit, aromatic dicarbonyl unit and the like, or the like is exampled.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance tear resistance and mechanical characteristics by selecting polymers constituting the respective layers of a film laminated at least as two layers in its thickness direction from either one of at least two kinds of different thermoplastic resins and providing at least one layer of which the longitudinal refractive index is larger than a lateral refractive index. SOLUTION: The polymers constituting the respective layers of a film laminated in at least two layers in its thickness direction are selected from either one of at least two kinds of different thermoplastic resins. At least one layer wherein a refractive index in a longitudinal direction is larger than that in a lateral direction is provided to the laminated film. Herein, a layer wherein the refractive index in the longitudinbal direction of the laminated film is larger than that in the laterial direction thereof is a layer wherein the refractive index in the flow direction of the film is larger than that in the right-angled direction when the thermoplastic resin constitution that layer is biaxially stretched as a single film. By this constitution, tear strength and mechanical characteristics can be enhanced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve thickness uniformity and a stripe-like defect and to prevent the generation of meandering or wrinkles at a time of secondary processing by specifying the max. surface roughness of a film, the thickness of the film in the longitudinal direction thereof and the waveform of the thickness irregularity thereof. SOLUTION: A thermoplastic resin film is characterized by that the surface max. roughness thereof is 0.0005-0.5μm, the thickness irregularity in the longitudinal direction thereof is 4% or less and Pw1/PwT being the ratio of the spectrum strength sum Pw1 in a waveform of 0.15-0.45(1/m) at a time when the waveform of the thickness irregularity is subjected to Fourier analysis to the spectrum strength sum PwT within a total wave number band is 0.15 or less. Therefore, as a thermoplastic resin, polyester is pref. and a technique for enhancing rigidity by lowering the temp. of the resin between a die and a casting drum (L-D) in order to suppress film vibration between L-D when the resin is extruded into a sheet form is effective. The cooling for lowering the temp. of the resin is pref. performed at the land part being the outlet of a die.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface flawless film without allowing an oligomer to stick to the surface of a drum or a roll by using the drum or the roll which has a chrome plating film containing a specified number of carbon atoms for a chromium atom formed on the surface whose outer peripheral face has a specific surface roughness. SOLUTION: A film manufacturing drum or roll is used which has an outer peripheral face with a surface roughness of 1S or less and also a chrome plating film containing 0.5-5% of a carbon atom in terms of the number of atoms for a chromium atom formed on the surface. An oligomer is prevented from sticking to the drum or the roll by meeting both surface roughness and surface film composition conditions. If this plating film thickness is too small, the pliability of a foundation metal influences the thickness. On the other hand, if the thickness is too large, cracks are generated due to heat or stress strain. The recommended foundation metal on which the film is applied is normally SUS or carbon steel.
