    Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for producing a thermoplastic resin film, which allows a biaxially oriented polyester film to be formed at a high speed of 400 m/min or more. The method of the present invention is a method for producing a thermoplastic resin film, in which a molten thermoplastic resin film is brought into contact with a cooling medium, to be cooled and solidifed, for producing a cast film, characterized in that the surface temperature of the cooling medium in the region immediately before the melt reaching position is kept at not lower than the glass transition temperature Tg and not higher than the melting point Tm of the thermoplastic resin. The apparatus of the present invention is an apparatus for producing a thermoplastic resin, characterized in that a cooling medium has a heater and a cooler to ensure that the surface temperature of the cooling medium in the region immediately before the melt reaching position is kept at not lower than the glass transition temperature Tg and not higher than the melting point Tm of the thermoplastic resin, and that the surface temperature of the cooling drum in the region immediately before the film leaving position is kept lower than the the glass transition temperature Tg of the thermoplastic resin.

    Abstract: A method of producing a thermoplastic resin film capable of giving a biaxially oriented polyester film at a speed of as high as at least 400 m/min and an apparatus therefor.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the productivity of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film by simultaneously stretching a plurality of films by one stretching machine. SOLUTION: Two or more thermoplastic resin unstretched films are superposed one upon another to be simultaneously guided to a biaxially stretching tenter to be biaxially stretched at the same time and the start stretching speeds of the films are set to 10,000%/min or more in respective directions. By this constitution, even if a plurality of the films are stretched at the same time by one stretching machine, the films can be peeled without being sticked mutually and productivity can be largely enhanced.
