Abstract:
An implantable electroacupuncture device (IEAD) treats obese conditions of a patient through application of stimulation pulses applied at acupoints SP4, LR8 or ST40, or their underlying nerves saphenous and peroneal. The IEAD comprises an implantable, coin-sized, self-contained, leadless electroacupuncture device having at least two electrodes attached to an outside surface of its housing. The device generates stimulation pulses in accordance with a specified stimulation regimen. Power management circuitry within the device allows a primary battery, having a high internal impedance, to be used to power the device. The stimulation regimen generates stimulation pulses during a stimulation session of duration T3 minutes applied every T4 minutes. The duty cycle, or ratio T3/T4, is very low, no greater than 0.05. The low duty cycle and careful power management allow the IEAD to perform its intended function for several years.
Abstract:
The invention is an Enhanced Patient Mobility Apparatus for use by ambulatory or recovering patients. The Enhanced Mobility Apparatus is fabricated from sturdy tubular material and has a lower U-shaped base frame member mounted on casters with an upwardly extending mid frame member and two vertical supports attached thereto and each also attached at its lower extremity to the lower U-shaped base frame member. The U-shaped base frame member, the mid frame member and the two vertical supports define a walking space for the patient with provision for the possibility of the patient also being able to move about with oxygen tanks, a patient intravenous drip apparatus and other medical devices and apparatus which must be transported by an ambulatory patient.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately manufacture an arc-shaped rail which is C-shaped in a cross section and includes an arc-shaped inner circumferential wall, an outer circumferential wall, a pair of side walls connecting both circumferential walls at the side edges, and a slit formed along the longitudinal direction in the central part of the inner circumferential wall or the outer circumferential wall by using a thin metal plate.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of an arc-shaped rail includes: a first process of forming the side wall 313 and one of divided circumferential wall portions 312 on both sides in a width direction of the inner circumferential wall or the outer circumferential wall divided by the slit by bending a ring R of the thin metal plate by spinning; a second process of forming the other side wall 313 and the other divided circumferential wall portion 312 by spinning by using a plurality of cores 41-43 obtained by dividing a core in a width direction to be equal to or less than a width of the slit 314 in a manner to envelop the cores 41-43; and a third process of separately extracting the plurality of cores 41-43 from the slit 314.
