    Abstract: A vehicle door window glass support structure includes: a sash part protruding upward with respect to the door panel; and window glass that is elevated or lowered along the sash part, in which the sash part includes a glass position regulating means that determines the position of the window glass in both vehicle interior and exterior directions and an intersecting direction that intersects the vehicle interior and exterior directions at least at a position where the window glass is elevated most. This configuration makes it possible to improve the position accuracy of the window glass with respect to the sash part, enhancing the appearance quality and the support performance of the window glass.

At least one bearing element which projects radially to the rotation axis from the portion is disposed on the portion of the cable drum, said bearing element engaging radially across a counter bearing on a periphery of the carrier element surrounding the opening of the carrier element.

    Abstract: In at least some implementations, a cable control system includes a spool on which a portion of a cable may be taken up and released, an input shaft coupled to the spool, and a motor coupled to the input shaft to drive the input shaft and spool in a first direction to take up cable on the spool and in a second direction to release cable from the spool. The control system also has two clutches that allow rotation of the spool without corresponding rotation of the motor. Each clutch may have a first member coupled to the input shaft and a second member coupled to the spool and relative rotation between the first and second members of the clutch allows rotation of the spool relative to the motor or input shaft.

    Abstract: A vehicle includes sidewalls, a tailgate located proximate to rear ends of the sidewalls, and a tailgate energy management system. The tailgate energy management system includes a governor coupled to one of the sidewalls and to the tailgate. The governor selectively applies a governing force to the tailgate to reduce an opening speed of the tailgate. The tailgate energy management system also includes a speed sensor sensing an opening speed of the tailgate and an electronic control unit electronically coupled to the governor and the speed sensor. The electronic control unit includes a processor and memory storing an instruction set. The electronic control unit receives a speed signal indicative of the opening speed of the tailgate and the processor executes the instruction set to cause the electronic control unit to transmit a control signal to the governor to slow the opening speed of the tailgate based on the speed signal.

    Abstract: The present invention provides for apparatus and methods for operating a garage door. An embodiment of an operating assembly for a door includes a shaft, a graduated drum, and an energy storing member. The shaft is coupled to the door such that the shaft rotates in a first direction as the door is opened and rotates in a second direction as the door is closed. The coupling of the shaft to the door is typically accomplished by a cable. The graduated drum is coupled to the shaft and the energy storing member is coupled to the graduated drum by another cable. The energy storing member is arranged such that the energy storing member stores energy as the door is closed and releases stored energy as the door is opened to assist in the raising and lowering of the door.
