Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a sitting front seat passenger interferes with a rear seat passenger intending to get in or off, in a 4-seater coupe type automobile. SOLUTION: Length of a door of the 4-seater coupe type automobile is made to length that the rear seat passenger can get in or off with the front seat occupant remaining seated. Next, first opening/closing means detachable to a front end part and a rear end part of the door are provided, and opening/closing action is performed by opening the first opening/closing means of the door front end part and supporting the door by the first opening/closing means of the door rear end part at getting on/off of the front seat occupant. Further, opening/closing action is performed by opening the first opening/closing means of the door rear end part and by supporting the door by the first opening/closing means of the door front end part at getting on/off of the rear seat passenger. Further, in case where the door is closed, it is constituted so that the first opening/closing means of the door front end part and the rear end part and a second opening/closing means at a door central part are positioned near a door flat surface, thereby, a vehicle body with high rigidity in which the door and the vehicle body are integrated is attained. Abstract: A transmission assembly for converting a garage door operator (GDO) from a ceiling mounted configuration to a jackshaft configuration may include an output coupler for operably coupling a drive tube rotatable to alternately open and close a sectional door, a pinion assembly operably coupled to the output coupler via a flexible coupling member, a releasable coupling assembly, a handle, and a cam operated engagement assembly. The releasable coupling assembly may be operably coupled to a motor output shaft of a GDO motor. The releasable coupling assembly may have an engaged state in which rotation of the motor output shaft is transferred to the pinion assembly and a disengaged state in which the rotation of the motor is not transferred to the pinion assembly. The cam operated engagement assembly may be operably coupled to the handle and the releasable coupling assembly to transition the releasable coupling assembly between the engages state and the disengaged state based on a position of the handle.

Abstract: A dump gate system for a fluid hopper in a firefighting aircraft. A gate sealably engages a gate opening in the hopper at a closed position. The gate is hingedly connected about the gate opening, and a drive shaft is supported within the hopper. A crank arm is fixed to the drive shaft and is further coupled to the gate by a connecting link. The crank arm and the connecting link define an over-center geometry while the gate is at the closed position, such that weight of the fluid on the gate induces torque on the drive shaft in a gate-closing direction. An electric motor is selectively coupled to rotate the drive shaft in a gate-opening direction to thereby enable control of the fluid flow from the hopper according to an angular position of the drive shaft.
