Abstract:
A fixture for halogen lamps of the type having two contact pins embodies a socket of insulating material. The socket is formed with two recesses which extend from its front to its rear side and receive contacts for the pins of the lamp. Each contact has a spring-biased plate bearing against a plate-like contact element forming part of a U-shaped connector having a bridge at the front or rear side of the socket and a hollow rivet in a passage of the socket. The rivets are connected to conductors by screws. Each connector constitutes a one-piece functional element of the fixture and performs several functions including anchoring and contact element in its recess and providing an electrical connection with the respective conductor.

In another aspect, the assembly (10) includes a connection (104L and R, 304L and R, 306L and R) adapted to manually, without tools, connect the light source (100) to electrical power, the connection (104L and R, 304L and R, 306L and R) can be configured to have no electrically conducting surfaces directly exposed or accessible to human fingers and can be configured to be positioned relatively away from the light source (100). In another aspect, the assembly (10) can include an ignitor circuit for the light source (100) farther away from a ballast circuit for the light source (100) but closer to the light source (100). The ignitor circuit can be in a housing (16) that is mountable to the assembly (10).
Abstract:
A lamp unit (14) having an electromechanical ball (23) including first and second electrically-conductive hemispheres (29, 30) separated by an insulator region (31), the ball (23) being pop-fit insertable and removable anywhere along a guide track apparatus (13) providing first and second oppositely-disposed conductor strips (26, 28) the lamp unit (14) being rotatable with respect to the conductor strips (26, 28) to provide on-off switching. The lamp unit-track combination provides the multiple capabilities of aiming and on-off switching, as well as lamp insertion and removal, while eliminating conventional fixturing.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electrical supply system for electrical lighting installations and the like. The system comprises a track having an elongate insulating member housing first and second conductors extending lontitudinally in spaced apart relationship and a plurality of like connectors each having attachment means operable to attach the connector to the track at a continuously adjustable position along its length and contact means making electrical contact with the track when so attached. Each connector is selectively attachable in either a first or a second orientation relative to the track such that the contact means makes electrical contact with only the first or second conductor respectively. Such an arrangement allows the connectors to be of simple construction and can be used with any number of different electrical loads.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an electrical connector for an illumination device and an illumination device comprising this electrical connector, wherein the electrical connector comprises a first part and a second part mounted on the first part, the electrical connector further comprises a first locking structure, wherein the first locking structure comprises first partial structure provided on the first part and second partial structure provided on the second part, wherein the first part and the second part are locked to each other in a first position, and the first part and the second part are separated by a predetermined distance in a second position, the locking of the first and second partial structure is released in the second position such that the first part and the second part are allowed to be rotatable relative to each other.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a screw-in type base for a lighting device being arranged to be mounted in a socket comprising a socket bottom conductor is provided. The base (100, 200, 300) comprising a threaded tubular enclosure (102) extending along an axial direction between a first (102a) and a second (102b) end portion of the enclosure (102), a base bottom conductor (103, 203, 311) arranged to be in electrically conductive contact with a light source (106) of the lighting device (400), and arranged to make electrically conductive, biased contact with the socket bottom conductor when the lighting device (400) is mounted in the socket, wherein the base bottom conductor (103, 203, 311) comprises a compliant thin-walled member (105, 205, 308) arranged such that the base bottom conductor (103, 203, 311) is, relative to the enclosure (102), movable in the axial direction in response to engagement with the socket bottom conductor when the lighting device (400) is mounted in the socket. The present invention also relates to a lighting device (400) comprising the base.
Abstract:
