    Abstract: A squib driver circuit for deployment of an active safety restraint in a vehicle. The squib driver circuit may include a high side protection circuit. The high side protection circuit may include a comparator circuit to compare the input voltage to a reference voltage and activate a timer in response to the input voltage exceeding the reference voltage, the timer generating a disable signal to disable the high side driver after a predetermined period of time The high side protection circuit may disable the high side driver after a short is detected and elapse of the predetermined period of time. The squib driver circuit may be formed on a single chip.

    Abstract: An inflatable airbag system can be configured to be mounted at a frontal region of a vehicle. The inflatable airbag system includes an airbag comprising a center cushion and a pair of side cushions each coupled to the center cushion on opposing sides of the center cushion. The side cushions can each have a triangular shape with an apex extending rearward further than at least a portion of an occupant-facing surface of the center cushion. The side cushions can be oriented with respect to each other at opposing angles relative to the center cushion such that an overall geometrical shape of the airbag is wider at a forward reaction base area of the airbag than at a rearward occupant-receiving area.

    Abstract: An electronics module includes a housing, a connector, and a baseplate. The housing and connector are attached to each other and mounted to the baseplate. The housing includes a protrusion that is received between an inner flange and an outer flange of the connector. The housing and connector combine to define a sealing plane that extends to co-planar bottom surfaces of the housing and connector. The housing and connector, when assembled, define a water intrusion path between an outer protrusion of the housing and the outer flange of the connector. The water intrusion path includes a plurality of chicanes that reduces the pressure of water that enters the path. The bottom surface of the housing defines a recessed channel to receive water.

    Abstract: An airbag is configured to be coupled to a steering wheel of a motor vehicle. The airbag includes a first panel and a second panel. The first panel is coupled to the second panel to form a split at a bottom area of the airbag forming two or more legs. The two or more legs cooperate to reduce the thickness of the airbag in a lower region upon inflation of the airbag as compared with an upper region of the airbag which interacts with the head and upper torso of an occupant.

    Abstract: A method for detecting the location of and isolating a leak in a braking system by simultaneously controlling a direct apply subsystem (DAS) and an isolated apply subsystem (IAS) to enable fluid communication between the IAS and the first circuit; to block fluid communication of the DAS with the first circuit; to enable fluid communication of the DAS with the second circuit; and to block fluid communication of the IAS with the second circuit. A sensed travel of an isolated apply component and a sensed fluid pressure developed by the IAS may be used to determine if the leak is present in the first circuit, while simultaneously using the sensed travel of a direct apply component of the DAS, and a sensed fluid pressure developed by the DAS, to determine if the leak is present in the second circuit.

    Abstract: A stroke sensor assembly for a vehicle braking system may include a stroke sensor, a sensor circuit board, and a sensor housing. The stroke sensor may be operable to detect a position of a piston within a hydraulic block. The sensor circuit board may be in communication with the stroke sensor and may be electrically connected to a plurality of terminals. The sensor housing may surround the stroke sensor and the sensor circuit board. The sensor housing may include a single mounting aperture for mounting the sensor housing to the hydraulic block. The sensor housing may include an integrally formed female electrical connector that at least partially houses the terminals. The female electrical connector may include an inlet opening through which a male electrical connector is received for electrical connection with the terminals. The female electrical connector may include one or more ramped surfaces defining the inlet opening.

    Abstract: Airbag cushion assemblies for aspirating ambient air to enhance inflation. Some embodiments may comprise an inflation module comprising an inflator and a plurality of high-velocity nozzles fluidly coupled with the inflator and configured to deliver inflation gas from the inflator into an airbag cushion. A housing coupled to the airbag cushion, may comprise an aspiration inlet configured to allow for receipt of ambient air into the airbag cushion during inflation of the airbag cushion. The plurality of high-velocity nozzles may be configured to, upon actuation of the inflator, draw ambient air into the airbag cushion along with the inflation gas from the inflator. In some embodiments, a valve assembly may be provided that is configured to open upon actuation of the inflator and to close following inflation of the airbag cushion to prevent air and inflation gas from exiting through the aspiration inlet.
