Abstract: A heating cooker and a control method thereof are provided to supply air to the surface of a top panel for forcibly cooling the surface after cooking, thereby preventing accidents such as a burn. A heating cooker includes a main body(110), a top panel(120) on which cooking vessels are secured, heaters(130) mounted at the lower part of the top panel for heating the cooking vessels, and a surface cooling unit(140) for cooling the top panel.
