    Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method in a user equipment (10) for transmitting uplink control information in time slots in a subframe over a radio channel to a radio base station. The radio channel is arranged to carry uplink control information and the user equipment and radio base station are comprised in a radio communications network. The uplink control information is comprised in a block of bits. The user equipment maps the block of bits to a sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. The user equipment also block spreads the sequence of complex valued modulation symbols across Discrete Fourier Transform Spread - Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFTS-OFDM) symbols. This is performed by applying a spreading sequence to the sequence of complex valued modulation symbols, to achieve a block spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. The user equipment further transforms the block-spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols per DFTS-OFDM symbol. This is performed by applying a matrix that depends on a DFTS- OFDM symbol index and/or slot index to the block-spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. The user equipment also transmits the block spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols that has been transformed over the radio channel to the radio base station.

    Abstract: A technique for operating a network node in a heterogeneously deployed network comprising network nodes of different nominal transmit powers and at least partially overlapping coverage areas is described. A method implementation of this technique comprises a step of operating the network node in a base mode in which the network node is configured to transmit terminal-specific demodulation reference signals for a first set of terminal devices. The method comprises the further step of selectively activating or deactivating operation of the network node in a Single Frequency Network (SFN) mode in which the network node is configured to transmit, for a second set of terminal devices, the same cell-specific reference nodes as a another network node of the heterogeneously deployed network that has a larger nominal transmit power.

    Abstract: An antenna port mapping method and device for demodulation reference signals. The method includes: determining a transmission rank for a downlink transmission to a user terminal; determining one or more reference signal antenna ports for the downlink transmission based on the transmission rank, wherein each port is defined by an group/code pair comprising a code division multiplexing group and orthogonal cover code; mapping reference signal antenna ports to group/code pairs for each transmission rank such that the code division multiplexing group and code orthogonal cover code are the same for a given antenna port for every transmission rank; and transmitting the downlink reference symbols over the reference signal antenna ports corresponding to the transmission rank.

A block spreading circuit (214) is configured to block spread the sequence of complex valued modulation symbols across Discrete Fourier Transform Spread - Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, DFTS-OFDM, symbols by applying a spreading sequence to the sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. The result of this is to achieve a block spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. A transforming circuit (215) is configured to transform, per DFTS-OFDM symbol, the block-spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols by applying a matrix with matrix elements. The matrix elements are cyclically shifted depending on a DFTS-OFDM symbol index and/or slot index, to the block-spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. A transmitter (217) is configured to transmit the block spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols that has been transformed over the radio channel to the radio base station (12).
