Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always keep focusing errors in an operation within a permitted limit by optimizing the residual focusing error (offset) amount of an optical system using an objective lens having a high numerical aperture. SOLUTION: The reproduced RF signal read out front an optical disk 10 to be rotatingly driven by a spindle motor 20 by an optical system 100 is amplified in an RF amplifying part 30 and its amplitude of the signal is detected in an amplitude detecting part 40. The detected amplitude is transmitted to a control part 50, which transmits a control signal based on the amplitude. Besides, a focusing error detecting part 60 applies a prescribed operation to the output of the photodetector of the optical system 100 for detecting a reflected light from the optical disk 10 to generate an error signal for performing the focus control of the system 100. Then, an adjustment 70 returns a controlled variable for performing the focus control of the optical pickup of the system 100 based on the error signal from the focusing error detecting part 60 and the control signal form the control part 50.

SOLUTION: In this objective lens device 10, a distance between a 1st lens 11 and a 2nd lens 12 is adjusted by a 2nd lens driving mechanism 16 to be made correspond to the base plate thickness of an optical disk 20. By providing a 2nd diaphragm 15 on the surface 12a of the 2nd lens 12 proximately opposed to the optical disk 20 in addition to a 1st diaphragm 14, the device 10 is made correspond to the opening degree of the optical disk 20.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record and reproduce signals with the density, which is equivalent to double the density of a conventional optical disk, by irradiating laser optical beams to the signals that are recorded in the groove and the non-grooved sections of an optical disk and detecting the reflected light beams by a photodetector to condcut the reproducing of the signals. SOLUTION: A photodetector 10 consists of two pairs of photodetecting elements 11l, 11r, 12l and 12r. If a push-pull method is used, detected outputs Sol and Sor of the elements 11l and 11r corresponding to a main beam spot SPo become sine waves having mutually reversed phases. Then, differential signals Sso and Ssa outputted from differential amplifiers 21 and 22 are multiplied in a multiplier 23 and the multiplier 23 outputs a tracking control signal ST2, which is represented by ST2=Sso, Ssa=2sin(2.2πx/p). Thus, if the push-pull method is used, 1/2 of the track pitch, i.e., the track having a double density is properly tracked in this constitution.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory reproduced signal by reducing a spherical aberration to be caused by the error of the thickness of a substrate in the pickup having a two group lens. SOLUTION: A standing wave is generated by supplying a voltage corresponding to the thickness (the error) of the substrate of a disk 2 to the electrodes of the stator 51 constituted of (lead zirconate titanate) and which is fixed to an objective lens 36 via a base 59. The rotator 52 provided on a stator 51 performs revolution on a horizontal plane arround an optical axis by the standing wave. Consequently, since the feed screw 54 fixed to the rotator 52 becomes to rotate the feed screw 54 fixed to a solid emersion lens 37, the solid emersion lens 37 is moved in an optical axial direction with respect to the objective 36. Thus, the spherical aberration to be generated is reduced by changing the distance between the objective lens 36 and the solid emersion lens 37 according to the thickness (the error) of the substrate in such a manner.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect focus error within focal depth with high accuracy by irradiating an optical recording medium with light beams from a light source through an objective lens and detecting the focus error. CONSTITUTION:The laser beams emitted from a semiconductor laser 11 are turned to parallel beams by a collimator lens 12 and pass through beam splitters 13 and 14, and a magneto-optical disk 16 is irradiated with the beams through an objective lens 15. The laser beams irradiating the magneto-optical disk 16 are reflected by the recording layer of the magneto-optical disk 16, made incident and reflected on the beam splitter 14 through the objective lens 15, condensed by a condenser lens 31 and made incident on a photodetector 34 such as a photodiode or the like. At a position just in front of this photodetector 34, a pin hole board 32 boring pin holes 33 is arranged, and a detected output from the photodetector 34 is extracted through an output terminal 35.

The transparent electrode on one surface of an electrostrictive element plate 21 of the variable phase plate 20 is divided into a center electrode 23 and a peripheral electrode 24, and a potential difference is given between the center electrode 23 and the peripheral electrode 24 to generate a phase difference in the center part of a pupil by a control circuit 30 at the time of recording, and the control voltage which eliminates this potential difference to eliminate the phase difference is applied at the time of reproducing.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain the linearity of a scanning line by freely rotatably supporting a rotating body which holds an objective lens and a rotating body of half rotating speed holding an image rotating device which is inserted into a beam optical path for recording and reproducing to the objective lens by means of one supporting shaft. CONSTITUTION:The rotating body 18 is a thick disk form and has a supporting hole 19 at the center of the rear surface. A light transparent hole 20 extends across the center of this body and a holder 21 of the objective lens 22 is placed at one end thereof. A mirror 23 is placed at the center and the reflecting surface is inclined respectively 45 deg. with the lens 22 and downward. The rotating body 18 is freely rotatably supported by a ball bearing 16 in the upper part of a supporting shaft 11. Light is condensed onto a tape surface when a recording tape 10 is wound on a drum 2. The rotating body 18 is rotated by a plane opposed type motor 27. The rotating body 28 houses an image rotating device 36 of a V-shaped prism in a holder 29 and is supported freely rotatably in the lower part of a supporting shaft 11. The rotating speed of the rotating body 28 is controlled to half the rotating speed of the rotating body 18. The center of rotation of the objective lens 22 and the center of rotation of the image rotating device 36 align with high accuracy and the linearity of the scanning line of the beam is assured according to this constitution.

CONSTITUTION:At first, a tape is scanned by an A head and when tracks a11-a14 to be shown by real lines are formed by spots sa1-Sa4 a head B next executes scanning so that the track can be formed between the tracks a14 and a13 by a spot Sb1 in an end part. Namely, since an interval between the tracks a13 and a14 is defined as a guide interval, side spots Ss and Ss of the spot Sb1 are irradiated so as to be spread over the tracks a14 and a13 and a tracking error signal is obtained by the reflected light. Then, tracking servo is loaded. Since spots Sb2-Sb4 are outputted from the same optical system as the spot Sb1, the positions are controlled in the same way as the spot Sb1. Tracks b14 and b13 are irradiated by the scan of the B head, and the recording is executed while executing the tracking control by the reflected light from the side spots Ss and Ss of the spot Sa1.
