Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow the user to watch a stereoscopic image without a sense of incongruity than before by selecting a polarized light direction of a polarifilter for a liquid crystal display screen corresponding to a left half display area and a polarized light direction of a polarifilter for a liquid crystal display screen corresponding to a right half display area to have an opaque relation to each other. CONSTITUTION:A right pattern R for a right eye is displayed on a left display screen 22L of a liquid crystal monitor 22 and a left pattern L for a left eye is displayed on a right display screen 22R. A stereoscopic image eyeglass has right eye polarifilter having linearly polarized direction the same as a polarifilter 23A provided in the right screen R and a left eye polarifilter having linearly polarized direction the same as a polarifilter 23B provided in the left screen L. Thus, the user wearing the stereoscopic image eyeglass to watch the monitor 22 observes the right screen R only by the right eye and the left screen L only by the left eye, then the right screen R and the left screen L are visually synthesized and the stereoscopic image is observed around the center of the monitor 22.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To observe a stereoscopic image without the sense of incompatibility by respectively providing view limiting frames at the polarizing filter parts for left and right eyes of the spectacles for stereoscopic image to observe a laterally bisected monitor display picture. CONSTITUTION:Since crossing right and left pictures R and L displayed through left and right side areas 23A and 23B of a polarizing filter 23 mounted at a monitor are observed by right and left eyes through polarizing filters 33 for right and left eyes of the spectacles for stereoscopic image, a stereoscopic image G can be observed at that crossing position. At such a time, since only the right picture R reaches the right eye and only the left picture L reaches the left eye by providing view limit frames 110A and 110B, only the stereoscopic image can be observed without observing unnatural images around the stereoscopic image G. Further, since the left and right pictures L and R are separately displayed by laterally bisecting the monitor, the stereoscopic image can be observed with the sense of a planar image even when observing the monitor without mounting the spectacles for stereoscopic image.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the video camera for stereoscopic video shooting for which the quantity of light is not decreased and the structure is made simple and low-priced. CONSTITUTION:An image corresponding to a left eye is fetched through a through glass part 14 and defined as the image in a certain field by rotating a rotary mirror 13, where the through glass part 14 and a mirror part 15 alternately appear, synchronously to a video signal by a motor 16 and next, an image corresponding to a right eye reflected by a fixed mirror 12 from a horizontal direction is reflected by the mirror part 15, fetched and defined as the image in the next field. Thus, video signals for stereoscopic viewing alternately switching the image for left eye and the image for right eye are obtained without using any liquid crystal shutter or the like which is expensive and complicated and decreases the quantity of light.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a stereoscopic video without a sense of incompatibility by a pair of video cameras by recording the photographic outputs of the video cameras on first and second optical axes. CONSTITUTION:The photographic output of the video camera on a first optical axis Pr and the photographic output of the video camera on a second optical axis Pl are respectively recorded. A video camera 3 photographs an object 1 while moving back and forth along the right optical axis Pr, and the photographic output is recorded by a VTR. Next, the video camera 3 photographs the objects while moving along the left optical axis Pl similarly to the movement on the optical axis Pr, and the photographic output is recorded by the VTR. The video camera 3 is controlled by a robot 6 so as to similarly moved on these optical axes Pr and Pl. Thus, the stereoscopic video can be obtained by a pair of the video camera 3 and the VTR.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce visibility of seams between cathode-ray tubes and obtain reduced picture element pitch by forming multiple self-luminescence type picture elements at a given arrangement pitch on a display surface of a tube body and using an insulating sheet to form a side wall portion contacting the display surface of the tube body. CONSTITUTION:Multiple self-luminescence type picture element, such as phosphor trios 4, are formed at a given arrangement pitch on a display surface 2 of a tube body 1, and a side wall section contacting the display surface 2 of the tube body 1 is formed by using an insulating sheet 10. A high-strength ceramic, such as zirconia, whose thermal expansion rate is not so different from that of glass of a panel 2 and a funnel 3 is selected as the insulating sheet 10. This allows the thickness of the side wall section to be reduced while maintaining sufficient mechanism strength. Also, since the sheet 10 is joined over the entire thickness of a panel side, sufficient mechanical strength and withstand strength are obtained for joined portions. Arranging such cathode-ray tube properly to produce a large-screen display device reduces unusable areas and visibility of seams between adjacent cathode ray tubes with the resulting reduced picture element pitch.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simultaneously record different signals in parallel and to attain parallel reproducing by providing a helical scanning type recorder with 2-channel magnetic head means to form obliquely parallel tack strings having a recording pattern coincident with that of the recorder. CONSTITUTION:The helical scanning type recorder is provided with 1st magnetic head means HA, HA'... for forming 1st oblique track strings TA, TA'... on a magnetic tape at a prescribed pitch alternately in each field with reverse azimuth and 2nd magnetic head means HB, HB'... for forming 2nd track strings TB, TB'... so as to insert them between respective 1st oblique track strings alternately in each field with reverse azimuth. The array pitch of the 1st and 2nd track strings and the inclination angle of tracks are matched with the recording format of the known helical scanning type recorder. Consequently, parallel recording of 2 channels can be attained and an existing helical scanning type recording/reproducing machine can be used for reproducing each single channel and monitoring it.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the automatic regulation to obtain a desired value for the luminance of a light emitting diode by trimming a resistance for current control connected in series to the light emitting diode in accordance with the luminance of the light emitting diode. CONSTITUTION:The cathode of a light emitting diode 2 is grounded via the collector and the emitter of an NPN transistor 3 for driving. The anode of the light emitting diode 2 is also connected to the terminal 5 of a power source which supplies direct current voltage +B via a resistance 4 for current control. In this case, the resistance 4 is a trimming resistance. A detection signal Sd from a light sensor 6 which detects the luminance of the light emitting diode 2 is supplied to a system controller 8 consisting of a microcomputer via an amplifier 7. In the system controller 8, the detection signal Sd is compared to a reference value SREF. For the luminance of the light emitting diode 2, the resistance 4 is trimmed by a trimming device 9 until the detection signal Sd of the light sensor 6 is made equal to the reference value SREF.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the production of a stereoscopic photography by uniting a polarizing plate forming checks having polarizing characteristics intersecting respective checks at right angles with both eye pictures so that both the checks coincide with each other. CONSTITUTION:A polarizing plate 6 forming check polarizing patterns having polarizing characteristics intersecting respective polarizing directions at right angles is adhered to a glass base plate 5. The 1st polarizing plate 2 alternately forming check polarizing patterns 3 which are intersected with the patterns 1 at right angles and consisting of a similar material are previously prepared and combined with each other to form the polarizing plate 6. The 1st positive film 8 photographing a left eye picture 7 of a subject and the 2nd positive film 10 photographing a right eye picture 9 are previously prepared and then synthesized by a printing picture processor so that the right and left pictures 9, 7 coincide with the check pitches of the polarizing plate 6 to form a positive film 11.
