The invention relates to an agglomerate containing at least one of the following water-soluble or water-dispersible materials as a bonding base polymer: carboxylized and/or alkoxylized starch, cellulose ether and fully synthetic vinyl polymers and/or polyacrylates. The agglomerate is characterized in that it contains a disintegrant which produces a high swelling pressure, but, advantageously, does not gel. The agglomerate can have a regular geometric form or not. Its weight should be between 0.5 and 500g. The agglomerate is used in particular in the production of lump-free paste.

A molded cured product obtained from a kneaded material using hydraulic powdery material, latent hydraulic fine powder, compounding water and if necessary, fine aggregate is hot aged under a specific condition so that silicic acid anion of at least a trimer is formed in calcium silicate hydrate formed in the texture of this molded cured product. This molded cured product has a compressive strength of at least 1,000 kgf/cm and a bending strength of at least 150 kgf/cm , and can suitably improve strength characteristics, particularly the bending strength as characterising drawback of cement type products, without using a specific reinforcing material and a compounding material such as a fiber, or even when these reinforcing material and compounding material are used, by drastically reducing their quantities. Accordingly, the present invention can advantageously provide a unique and novel cement type product. Incidentally, beautiful mortar or concrete products by glost firing, which has not been able to be practised due to unavoidable drop of strength characteristics, can be produced and provided as products having desirable bending strength, compressive strength and elastic modulus.

A slurry containing a precursor fiber convertible to carbon fiber and/or a carbon fiber and a thermosetting resin is processed into a random web. The web is hot-pressed between a pair of belts while curing of the resin is inhibited to prepare a prepreg sheet. The sheet is disposed, leaving a clearance, in a mold having ribs on a molding surface and heated over the melting point of the resin for expansion and complete cure to provide a porous composite sheet equipped with grooves. This porous composite sheet is carbonized or graphitized to produce a porous carbonaceous material for use as a fuel cell electrode material and so on. This porous carbonaceous material has high homogeneity, gas permeability, electrical conductivity, heat conductivity and mechanical strength.
