본 발명은 종래 기술보다 더 큰 분자량의 유기폴리실록산을 제공하고/하거나 더 빠른 현탁 중합 기술을 통하여 실리콘 에멀젼을 제조하는 방법을 제공한다. 본 방법은 a) 유화제, b) 실라놀 작용성 유기폴리실록산, c) 중합 촉매, 및 물을 배합하여 혼합물을 형성하는 단계와, 상기 혼합물을 전단시켜 유기폴리실록산의 분산 상을 갖는 에멀젼을 형성하는 단계와, 1 MPa 초과의 압력을 갖는 폐쇄 시스템에서 상기 에멀젼을 반응시켜 유기폴리실록산을 중합시키는 단계를 포함한다.

Abstract:
A styrene-butadiene latex binder for ink-jet paper is provided to ensure low negative charge density and predetermined glass transition temperature, to exhibit excellent price competitiveness and paint workability, and to save a drying energy cost. A styrene-butadiene latex binder for ink-jet paper comprises 20-85 parts by weight of a styrene-based monomer, 10-70 parts by weight of a butadiene-based monomer, 0.5-15 parts by weight of a vinyl cyan monomer, 0.1-1.5 parts by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer, and 1-25 parts by weight of a monomer copolymerizable with the monomers, and has a glass transition temperature of 20-50 °C. The ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer is at least one selected from the group comprising unsaturated carboxylic acids and unsaturated polycarboxylic acid alkyl esters having at least one carboxylic acid group.

The present invention is directed to a water borne coating composition. The composition according to the present invention comprises an emulsified binder, wherein the binder is a polymer selected from the group consisting of polymers prepared by emulsion polymerization of unsaturated vinyl, acrylate and/or methacrylate monomers, alkyd, polyurethane, and epoxy, 0.3% to 10% by weight of a second polymer selected from one or more of the group consisting of poly(vinyl alcohol)and water-soluble copolymers having repeat units of vinyl alcohol, wherein, if the second polymer is poly(vinyl alcohol), at least 85 wt% of the second polymer has a number of repeat units not less than 2,000, and 0% to 15% by weight of a cellulose-based filler, based on the total weight of the composition, wherein the weight ratio of second polymer to binder is in the range of from 1:100 to 1:1. The composition maybe used in various applications to form a decorative coating which has special visual and tactile effect.

This invention relates to a novel silicone emulsion, a water-based anchorage additive thereof and a silicone release coating composition. This invention provides a novel silicone emulsion comprising: (A) silicone compound comprising an anchorage additive for enhancing the adhesion to a polymer film substrate, wherein the anchorage additive is the reaction product of a fluid polyorganosiloxane (A1) containing at least one alkenyl group and at least one silanol group with a hydrolysable silane (A2) containing at least one epoxide group; (B) at least one surfactant; and (C) water. This invention also provides a water-based anchorage additive thereof, and a silicone release coating composition comprising (X1) said novel silicone emulsion and (X2) at least one curable silicone composition, preferably a water-based silicone release coating composition. The curable silicone release coating composition may be applied to a sheet-form substrate and cured to form a release-coated layer having good release property and improved rub- off resistance on the substrate.
