Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus suitable for supplying a desorbed gas to reuse destination at stable gas pressure, while enhancing a recovery ratio of high purity hydrogen gas, in purifying hydrogen gas from a mixed gas containing hydrogen by using a pressure swing adsorption method.SOLUTION: A method for purifying hydrogen gas from a mixed gas containing hydrogen is provided in which a cycle including a hydrogen-enriched gas leading out step and a desorbed gas leading out step is repeated. In the hydrogen-enriched gas leading out step, by means of a pressure swing adsorption method using adsorption columns 10A-10D filled with an adsorbent, a mixed gas is introduced into the adsorption columns while the adsorption columns are in relatively high pressure, impurities in the mixed gas is adsorbed by the adsorbent and a hydrogen-enriched gas is led out from the adsorption columns. In the desorbed gas leading out step, the impurities are desorbed from the adsorbent by reducing pressure in the adsorption columns and the desorbed gas is led out from the adsorption columns. While the desorbed gas led out from the adsorption columns is introduced into a volume-changeable gas holder 2, the gas in the gas holder 2 is led out while keeping the pressure in the gas holder 2 substantially constant.
