Abstract:
An electrical backplane assembly for interconnecting a plurality of connection modules in a fiber distribution shelf to the central controller of an optical fiber administration system. The electrical backplane assembly mounts upon a bracket assembly within the confines of the shelf structure of the fiber distribution shelf. The bracket assembly retains the electrical backplane assembly in a small previously unused area of space in between the tops of the connection modules and the interior top panel of the fiber distribution shelf. By having the electrical backplane assembly entirely contained within the shelf structure of a fiber distribution shelf, a unique configuration is provided that greatly reduces the size and complexity of the overall fiber administration system.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a distribution unit (10) which provides means for tracing patch connections. Each module (18, 19) is electrically connected to a shelf controller (44, 45) through a backplane (42, 43). The shelf controllers are, in turn, coupled to a host computer (52). Pressing a button (24a) on one module lights an LED (24b) on that module and on the module which should be connected thereto based on the data base in the host computer.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a telecommunications termination panel (210) with a housing including a front opening and a rear opening. Pivotably mounted within the housing is a tray (136) within the front opening, pivoting about a vertical axis located adjacent a first side of the housing. A cable path is defined along a bottom of the housing. A movable plate (238) is positioned adjacent the first side and is movable between a first position defining an upper limit of the cable path when the tray is closed and a second position allowing access to the cable path when the tray is open. The movement of the plate between the first and second positions is actuated via the actuator (232) by the movement of the tray. Pivotably mounted within the housing is a tray within the front opening, pivoting about a vertical axis located adjacent a first side of the housing. The tray is pivotable between an open and a closed position. The tray includes a cover (212) which can be moved between an operational and an access position when the tray is in the open position. With the cover in the operational position, the tray is prevented from moving from the open to the closed position.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A connecting panel assembly including pivot modules that are pivotally connected to a frame of the assembly. The pivot modules include a plurality of jack modules. The jack modules have a plug opening on one side and wire terminations on an opposite side. The pivot modules are pivotally coupled at opposite ends of the frame. The pivot modules can pivot from a closed position wherein the pivot modules are aligned parallel with the frame, and an open angled position wherein the pivot modules are positioned at an angled position relative to the frame. The assembly also includes a support member that supports the pivot modules in the angled position.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a distributor bar (10) of a telecommunication system, comprising a functional element which comprises contact elements (11) for connecting incoming cable wires and contact elements (12) for connecting outgoing cable wires. Said functional elements also comprise electrically conductive contact springs connected to the contact elements for establishing connections between incoming cable wires and outgoing cable wires. According to the invention, said distributor bar (10) comprises at least one compensating device (14) which is integrated into an electric connecting path between a contact element (11) for connecting an incoming cable wire and a contact element (12) for connecting an outgoing cable wire. The or each compensating device (14) is used to compensate cross-talk and/or side-to-side cross-talk.
