Abstract:
A distortion meter for indicating the distortion of a telegraphic signal includes a cathode ray tube, a deflection control arrangement for deflecting the electron beam to form the pattern of a closed polygon on the screen of the cathode ray tube, the length of the perimeter of the closed polygon corresponding to a prescribed degree of distortion and a beam control arrangement for controlling the electron beam to trace that portion of the polygon pattern corresponding to a measured degree of distortion.
Abstract:
A large-band phase meter operating by the evaluation of displaced rectangular waves being applied to phase measurements, particularly between two waves having the same frequency but different cyclic ratios furnishing measurements independent of the cyclic ratio.
Abstract:
A numerical display distortion meter for signals featuring amplitude transitions at instants characteristic of the data embodied in the signals includes first and second counters of clock pulses, reset means responsive to the transitions in the distorted signal for resetting the first counter only if its count exceeds half its capacity and for resetting said second counter only if its count is less than half its capacity, and means for determining the time difference between the counts in said first and second counters at the end of an operation cycle.
Abstract:
A path finding test device, more particularly for time switching, comprising input switches, intermediate switches and output switches, this device comprising a centralized memory representing the occupied or free state of all the intermediate switches so that the search for an available itinerary takes place by reading, in the memory, the free state of the intermediate switches. The invention may be applied to the telecommunication industry.
Abstract:
A path testing device for a time channel connection network employs a decision and control network which, through its permanent connection with a central processing computer, delivers control signals to various elements connected with the central memory for selecting and storing an available time channel on one of a plurality of time division multiplex communication paths possible through an intermediate stage of a multiple stage interconnection time channel switching network. The path testing device is responsive to an incoming time slot and an outgoing time slot being accessed to and from the input stage and sequentially examines available time slots from a number available within the intermediate time switching stage.
Abstract:
A spindle assembly includes a sleeve bearing having a number of air nozzles equi-angularly arranged about a shaft. A thrust bearing supports one end of the shaft with clearances for air support. The air nozzles generally have a frusto-conical air passage with a central bore.
Abstract:
A receiving device comprising a filtering section consisting of as many band-pass analysis filters as there are different component frequencies in the signals which can be received, and a processing section enabling an analysis of the energy in the individual filters.
Abstract:
Two-speed routing device for a telegraphic subscriber, enabling the use of the two modulation speeds, one called ''''normal'''' and the other called ''''fast,'''' the fee being different in each case; this device, placed in a link-up exchange, comprises a single line equipment set whose inputs are linked with the input distributor, and a call discriminator element which controls the tripping of a discriminator relay ensuring the changing from one speed of use to another.
Abstract:
Device for improving the signal/noise ratio S + B1 and S + B2 coming from two aerials, comprising two correlators with polarity coincidence, whose first inputs receive chopped tensions x + y and x - y, x and y being sinusoidal voltages depending respectively on the correlation coefficients of noise B1, B2 and of the said noise put in phase coincidence, and whose second inputs receive chopped tensions S + B1 and S + B2, the required signal being collected at the output of an adder whose inputs are connected to the outputs of the said correlators.
Abstract:
Apparatus for connecting telegraph channels by control from a central control member having access to respective sections to be connected, including a transmitter and a receiver connected in series between the two sections of the channel and the central control member being connected to the receiver to selectively inhibit the output thereof.
