Abstract:
A compact source having an X-ray beam of very high brilliance is provided to lengthen a life time of a rotary anode within an X-ray source. A vacuum container(7) is defined by a sealing wall. A vacuum pump(1) includes a stator(1b) installed within an outer sealing casing(1f), a rotor(1a), and rotor controllers(10a-10e) and is connected to the vacuum container in order to form a vacuum state of the vacuum container. A cathode(3) is formed to generate lines of electric force within the vacuum container. A rotary anode(2) is rotated around a rotary shaft within the vacuum container. An edge(2a) of the rotary anode receives the lines of electric force from the cathode in order to radiate an X-ray to an outlet(11). The rotary anode is connected to the rotor and is disposed in the same axis as the axis of the rotor. The sealing casing is used for forming the sealing wall of the vacuum container. One or more cooling elements(8,9) are fixed to the stator or the outer sealing casing facing main radiative surfaces(2b,2c) of the rotary anode.
Abstract:
An adjustable coupling arrangement for aperture coupled cavity filters. According to the invention, in an electric wall (24) separating two cavities to be coupled in a bandpass filter, provide a cruciform iris (26) comprising a central aperture (27) having four slits (28,29,30, 31) extending outwardly therefrom. In each slit there is arranged a captive movable rectangular metal slug (36,37,38,39) whose position along the slit's length can be manipulated by a tool that engages the slug when the tool is introduced into a radial passageway (32,33,34 35) that connects the slit with an access hole in the filter's housing. When desired coupling parameters are achieved by manipulating each of the slugs to effectively change the electrical length of the slits, each slug is locked in position by a respective associated locking means actuated by the tool. Because a significant part of the tool is within a passageway during manipulation, the filter's characteristics are not disturbed by its presence.
Abstract:
The invention refers to continuous electrical power sources for transmission equipment. It concerns a safety device for an assembly comprising two sources, giving a virtually instantaneous reversing to one of the sources if the other, previously set in operation, has a breakdown.
Abstract:
Optimized rectangular wave guide to circular wave guide coupler making it possible to favor, in one version, the circular TE01 mode and in the other version, the circular TE02 mode, wherein a tongue constituted by a sector portion has a constant arc diametrically opposite to the coupling holes and joined by a sector portion opening out progressively from a fine ridge in the absence of the coupling holes. In the TE01 version, the sector having a constant opening has an arc of 60* and in the TE02 version, 90*.
Abstract:
Group modulator having digital operation for processing samples taken from n voice frequency channels. Digitized samples are divided into a plurality of subgroups, for example two subgroups of n/2 channels, and applied through first and second double modulation circuits. The respective outputs of the modulation circuits are applied through a circuit which is alternately switched to add and subtract the outputs. After the sums and remainders have been passed through a digital to analog converter, they are alternately switched to be applied through separate analog filters having different pass bands to a common output.
Abstract:
A graphic data display system for effecting controlled traces on the screen of a cathode ray tube in which data display is inhibited for various delay times in response to detection of changes in selected portions of the binary data signals indicating a change in the required trace including a memory for storing the binary signals and comparators for comparing the corresponding inputs and outputs of greatest weight of said memory to detect said changes.
Abstract:
Digital system which, from n voice frequency channels, furnishes a band of a frequency multiplex system, for example, a primary base group of twelve channels of 4 kHz each, covering the band 60 - 108 kHz, and comprises between an analog-digital input converter receiving the voice frequency channels and a digitalanalog output converter emitting the desired band, only members of the digital type operating on digital information or data ''''words.
Abstract:
Analog-to-digital convertor of the re-circulation type converting an analog magnitude, for example a voltage sampled at regular intervals, from a telephone current, into a series of coded quantification pulses in binary code, the convertor operating as a compression law coder, possibly as a linear coder.
Abstract:
An automatic selector for a data transmission line corrector selectively inserts a plurality of correctors in sequence in the line and measures the bipolarity errors associated with each corrector. The corrector which provides the least error is then connected to the line for purposes of that transmission.
Abstract:
An echo sounding apparatus having a source of coherent waves and an array of detectors each providing an output signal significant of the phase and amplitude of that portion of a wave reflected from the target to which the coherent wave from the source is directed. Sampling circuitry samples the outputs of the detectors at periods delayed with respect to a sampling origin time by an amount proportional to the square of the distance from the sampled detector to a reference point in the array. A calculator is then provided for carrying out a Fourier transformation on each sample to provide an output signal representative of the target.
