Abstract: Embodiments herein describe association rules (e.g., affinity and anti-affinity rules) that a wireless device can use to optimize its performance in a Wi-Fi network. While BSS coloring is typically used to eliminate color collisions, the embodiments herein use BSS coloring to define what BSS colors should be on the same channel and which should not. For example, an affinity rule can indicate that a wireless device assigned a first BSS color (e.g., red) can share the same channel with wireless devices (or BSSs) assigned a second BSS color (e.g., green). In contrast, an anti-affinity rule can indicate that a wireless device in the red BSS color cannot share a channel with a wireless device assigned to a third BSS color (e.g., blue). The embodiments herein permit the wireless devices to be grouped with, or separated from, wireless devices having different BSS colors.

Abstract: A system may be configured to identify, from among a plurality of access points in an area in communication with a network, a plurality of edge access points associated with an edge of the area. In addition, the system may also be configured to determine first edge location-related data for a first edge access point and first interior location-related data for a first interior access point. Determining the first interior location-related data for the first interior access point includes exchanging ranging data indicative of a first relative distance between the first edge access point and the first interior access point. The ranging data may be based at least in part on fine timing measurements and/or time-of-flight-based measurements. Determining the first interior location-related data for the first interior access point may also include communicating the first edge location-related data from the first edge access point to the first interior access point.

Abstract: When a packet data session is established for a user equipment (UE), a comparative assessment of load information factors from different sets of load information factors associated with a plurality of user plane function (UPF) instances may be performed. Each set of load information factors of a UPF instance may include predicted load information factors indicative of a predicted load at the UPF instance. A UPF instance may be selected for the packet data session of the UE based on the comparative assessment. The comparative assessment may additionally consider a predicted load contribution of the packet data session to be established for the UE. A data analytics function may utilize a model (e.g. a multiple linear regression model) to calculate predicted load contribution factors, where the model is derived based on historical usage data from previous sessions of one or more UEs, for example, data from charging data records (CDRs).

Abstract: This disclosure describes various methods, systems, and devices related to mirrored traffic forwarding in a hybrid network. An example method includes receiving, from a source forwarder in a source network, a mirrored data packet. A session of the mirrored data packet may be identified based on a header of the mirrored data packet. A destination forwarder in a destination network may be identified based on the session. The destination network may be different than the source network. The mirrored data packet may be forwarded to the destination forwarder.

Abstract: A network function virtualization (NFV) compute element installs an image supporting a virtualized network function (VNF) on the element. The image includes instructions/data to initiate a TCP connection between the element and a Software Defined Network (SDN) controller upon reboot of the element. Upon rebooting, the element establishes, as client in accordance with the instructions/data, a TCP connection with the controller. The element then accepts, as a cryptographic network protocol server, a connection via the TCP connection from the controller as a client in accordance with the instructions. Next, the element accepts, as a network management protocol server, a connection via the cryptographic network protocol connection from the controller as network management protocol client. The element receives, from the controller over the network management protocol connection, commands regarding the status of the rebooted compute element, and then transmits, to the controller over the network management protocol connection, responses to the commands.

Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a group of APs (115A-115D) that uses a shared radar cache (120A) to select a new channel after vacating a current channel when performing dynamic frequency selection (DFS). The group of APs (115A-115D) can set aside memory to store status information about the DFS channels in the frequency band. For example, when one AP detects a radar event (and has to vacate a DFS channel), the AP updates an entry for that channel in the shared radar cache (120A). The APs can also query the cache to determine a new channel after vacating its current channel. That is, the shared radar cache may store the most recent radar events occurring in a channel. In this manner, the APs can select a new channel that has little or no recent radar events, which reduces the likelihood the AP will have to vacate the new channel.

Next, the first computing device (105) may associate to a second AP (115) at the virtual MAC address. Then data from a data frame may be replicated to a first one or more RUs in a channel. The first one or more RUs may be assigned to the first AP (110). Data from the data frame may then be replicated to a second one or more RUs in the channel. The second one or more RUs may be assigned to the second AP (115) and may not overlap the first one or more RUs.
