Abstract: PURPOSE: A software update method and an apparatus for the same are provided to supply a real-time service without stopping a real-time system for modification of a real-time application program. CONSTITUTION: A first scheduling unit(103) schedules a periodic task and an aperiodic task. The first scheduling unit performs update. An offset calculating unit(104) calculates time interval for mode change. A second scheduling unit(105) schedules the periodic task and the scheduled periodic task. Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a system for discovering a communication entity using a discovery gateway are provided to ensure stability and reliability not only in a search procedure but also in performing whole applications by performing a distributed search procedure through requests and responses between communications entities. CONSTITUTION: A first local network(102) and a second local network are connected through a via network(105). A search gateway is installed inside a first local domain(310) and a second local domain(320). Abstract: PURPOSE: An SVG image output apparatus using caching techniques and a method thereof are provided to reuse an output image of an SVG file, thereby shortening parsing time and output image generating time to output a corresponding image. CONSTITUTION: A storage unit(16) stores an SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) image. If an SVG file(10) is inputted, a cache controller(14) decides whether an SVG image corresponding to the SVG file is saved in the storage unit. If the SVG image corresponding to the SVG file is saved in the storage unit, the saved SVG image is outputted through the control of the cache controller. A file parsing unit(18) parses the SVG file transferred from the cache controller. An image generating unit(20) receives the parsed SVG file to newly generate an SVG image.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An application test apparatus of an embedded system and a method thereof are provided to crossly develop an application without respect to a kind of a target system. CONSTITUTION: A virtual cross development environment manager(20) builds a virtual environment for testing an application applied to a target system based on information inputted through a user interface(10). Abstract: A pen type electronic dictionary device and a method thereof are provided to search data inputted through various input modes and output the search result through various output modes, thereby enabling a user to conveniently use the electronic dictionary. An input unit(100) receives scanned image, voice or letters according to an input mode which is one of scanning mode, voice recognition mode and writing recognition mode. Abstract: A kernel, a data reading method and a data writing method are provided to reduce an encrypting/decrypting operation amount needed in an encrypting file system. A kernel includes a user area layer, a buffer cache layer and a device driver layer on a data transmission path between the kernel itself and an assistant storage unit which stores data according to application programs and an encrypting file system. The user area layer enables the application programs to be driven. The buffer cache layer stores the data buffered from the assistant storage unit, and the device driver layer relays data communication between the assistant storage unit and the buffer cache layer.
