신호 수신 장치는 복수의 안테나를 통해 복수의 신호를 수신하고, 복수의 신호로부터 제1 계층 추정 심볼열 및 복수의 제2 계층 추정 심볼열을 생성하며, 복수의 제2 계층 추정 심볼열에 가중치를 적용하여 복수의 가중치 적용 심볼열을 생성한다. 이후 복수의 가중치 적용 심볼열에 대해 덧셈 연산을 수행하여 다이버시티 신호를 생성하고, 제1 계층 추정 심볼열을 바탕으로 제1 계층 신호를 생성하며, 다이버시티 신호를 바탕으로 제2 계층 신호를 생성한다. 이를 통해 새로 추가되는 신호의 수신율을 높일 수 있다. 방송, 계층 변조, 다이버시티, OFDM

A 3D(Dimensional) contents scene playback method and a device thereof are provided to support 3D text through a scene descriptor by suggesting a 3D text node including text information and disparity information of the text information to the scene descriptor. An MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group)-4 control signal generator generates an MPEG-4 control signal including a scene descriptor. The scene descriptor includes 3D text node information for displaying text in 3D. The 3D text node information includes a left string field storing a first text corresponding to a left staring point, a right string field storing a second text corresponding to a right starting point, and a disparity field storing information for disparity of the first and second text.

An on channel repeater and a method thereof are provided to compensate for channel distortion occurring between a main transmitter and a repeater, thereby transmitting an output signal of high quality which is similar to a transmitting signal of the main transmitter the most through the on channel. The first subtraction unit(903) subtracts a feedback signal and a replica of a multi path signal from a signal of receiving units(901,902). A replica generating unit(913) generates each filter coefficient in a pilot section and a data section. The replica generating unit generates the feedback signal and the replica of the multi path signal by using the generated filter coefficient. Transmitting units(911,912) transmit an output signal from the first subtraction unit.

A method and an apparatus for detecting a downloadable conditional access system host with duplicated secure micro are provided to efficiently determine whether an SM is duplicated using authentication time difference information associated with a value of a difference between a time when a host is finally authenticated in a first address and a time when the host is authenticated in a second address. A head-end system(110) includes an AP(Authentication Proxy) server(111), an LKS(Local Key Server)(112), a DPS(Downloadable Conditional Access System Provisioning Server)(113), and an IPS(Integrated Personalization System) server(114). The head-end system is installed separately from an existing CAS(Conditional Access System) server(140). Also, the head-end system is operated independently from the CAS server, and thus is compatible with an existing cable broadcasting system. The LKS stores and manages information about keys of servers such as a key of an SM(Secure Micro), a history of ID(IDentification) information of the SM, a key of the AP server, a history of ID information of the AP server, and history of key information of the IPS server. Also, the DPS manages download-related information and policy associated with a DCAS service. The IPS server stores and manages an SM client to be downloaded to a DCAS host(160). When the DCAS host connected to a cable network exists, the AP server transmits information associated with an SM of the DCAS host to a TA(Trusted Authority)(120) to authenticate the DCAS host. The TA is a reliable external authentication device. The TA authenticates the DCAS host using the received information associated with the SM.

A signal transmission method and a signal receiving method in a broadcasting system are provided to mutually link services of two ensemble transfer frames, thereby offering a high-quality data service. An ensemble of a base layer and the ensemble of an enhancement layer are produced from data content of a broadcast signal. A base layer ensemble processor(130) comprises a base layer service component. The enhancement layer ensemble comprises an enhancement layer service component. Ensemble transfer frames of the basic layer and the enhancement layer are individually generated from the ensemble of the base layer and the ensemble of the enhancement layer. The ensemble transfer frames of the enhancement layer and the base layer are transmitted. The ensemble transfer frame of the enhancement layer comprises service control information.
Abstract:
A relay apparatus and a relay method thereof are provided to increase the power of a signal re-transmitted through a transmission antenna by removing a feedback signal from a signal received through a receiving antenna. A receiver(100) frequency-down-converts an RF receiving signal to an IF(Intermediate Frequency) signal. An echo remover(200) removes a feedback signal from an IF receiving signal. A demodulator(300) demodulates a T-DMB frame in the IF signal where the feedback signal is removed, and then extracts/outputs a phase reference symbol to an equalizer. The equalizer updates the coefficient of a filter to compensate for the distortion of the IF signal.

An apparatus for removing the phase jitter in a cable modem and a method thereof are provided to remove the phase jitter in a slicer of a carrier restoring device by using an output value of a low pass filter within an automatic gain control device. A power detector(410) outputs the mean of an inputted signal. An error measurement unit(420) calculates the error value between the mean value received from the power detector and a reference signal. The first loop filter(430) controls the amplitude of the inputted signal based on the calculated error value and then outputs the controlled signal to a low-pass filter(440). The low-pass filter outputs the signal to a gain control amplifier(400).

An apparatus and a method for receiving a signal in a digital broadcasting system are provided to improve a reception rate of a newly added signal to the existing digital broadcasting system by generating a first hierarchical signal and a second hierarchical signal based on the hierarchical modulated signal. A plurality of receivers(210) correspond to a plurality of antennas and receive a plurality of signals passing through different paths in a wireless channel by using the plurality of antennas. The plurality of antennas follows a plurality of orientation angles corresponding to the plurality of antennas. The plurality of signals have different channel characteristics according to the plurality of orientation angles. An energy calculator(220) includes information about each energy of the plurality of signals by calculating each energy of the plurality of signals. A signal selector(230) selects one signal among the plurality of signals based on the energy information. A hierarchical modulating unit(250) outputs a first hierarchical modulation signal and a second hierarchical modulation signal by hierarchically modulating the signal.

A method and an apparatus for managing and transmitting a conditional access application program per a kind to supply a downloadable conditional access service are provided to minimize an interface with a DCAS system, thereby guaranteeing security and freedom to a CAS service provider. A DCAS(Downloadable Conditional Access System) manager device stores a CAS(Conditional Access System) application program in an IPS(Integrated Personalization Server)(140) and supplies IPS access information or CAS application program to be transmitted to a terminal to an authentication proxy. The authentication proxy(130) provides mutual authentication, the IPS access information and installation related information about the terminal. The IPS transmits the CAS application program to the terminal.
