Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for Random Access Channel (RACH) configuration in Layer 1 (L1) /Layer 2 (L2) mobility. A user equipment (UE) may obtain a downlink (DL) Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) list from a first Transmission and Reception Point (TRP). The DL TCI list may include DL beam information, RACH Occasion (RO) information, and initial Bandwidth Part (BWP) information associated with each DL TCI of a plurality of DL TCIs related to the first TRP and multiple TRPs adjacent to the first TRP. The UE may receive a handover command from the first TRP via Downlink Control Information (DCI) in L1 or Media Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) in L2. The handover command indicates a handover from the first TRP to a second TRP of the multiple TRPs for the UE, and includes a specified DL TCI related to the second TRP. The UE may determine RACH information related to the second TRP, based at least partly on the specified DL TCI related to the second TRP included in the handover command and the DL TCI list. The UE may then perform random access to the second TRP based on the RACH information related to the second TRP. The RACH information may include uplink (UL) beam information, RO information and Bandwidth Part (BWP) information for the UE to perform random access to the second TRP.

Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing techniques for a user equipment (UE) having dual connectivity. The UE can communicate with a first primary base station in a first primary cell (PCell) and a second primary base station in a second PCell. The UE has dual connectivity in the second PCell using a first wireless carrier to communicate with the second primary base station and a second wireless carrier to communicate with a secondary base station in a primary secondary cell (PSCell). The UE receives a message from the first primary base station to perform a handover procedure. The UE performs the handover procedure according to the received message, and further perform an addition procedure for the secondary base station in parallel with the handover procedure. A start time of the addition procedure can be before an end time of the handover procedure.

Abstract: Aspects herein relate to wireless devices, circuits, and methods for determining a PRACH resource mapping comprising a starting symbol position within a reference slot, wherein the starting symbol position is determined based, at least in part, on a subcarrier spacing configuration of PRACH resources of a wireless network that a wireless device is operating on; and using the radio to transmit a RACH preamble and an associated RA-RNTI via the determined PRACH resource mapping. Further aspects herein relate to devices, circuits, and methods for using a modified RA-RNTI for transmission or reception of data over a wireless network, wherein the wireless network has a subcarrier spacing configuration of PRACH resources, wherein a size of the subcarrier spacing configuration of the PRACH resources causes out-of-range RA-RNTI values to be calculated using a legacy RA-RNTI equation in an unmodified form, wherein the range of permissible RA-RNTI values is from 0 to 216-1.

A New Radio (NR) Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) configuration comprising an indication of a time-domain PRACH resource type to determine when the UE is allowed to transmit a PRACH preamble and a type of preamble format may be received. Additionally, a PRACH resource based on the received PRACH configuration to transmit the PRACH preamble, wherein the PRACH resource includes RACH resource occasions (ROs) with gaps in between may be determined. Thereafter, a PRACH procedure may be initiated by transmitting the PRACH preamble on a RO based on the determined PRACH resource to a base station (BS).
