    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare an antistatic aerosol excellent in the antistatic properties, odor and drying rate by compounding a specific salt of a sulfate ester as the major component, a solvent comprising a mixture of water with ethanol and dimethyl ether as a propellant. CONSTITUTION:A compd. of the formula (wherein R is 8-18C linear or branched alkyl; R1 is 2-3C alkylene; and m is 0-10) is reacted with sulfuric acid to give a sulfate ester, which is neutralized to give an org. or inorg. salt of the ester (e.g. sodium polyoxyethylenelauryl sulfate) as the major component of an antistatic agent. 2-8wt.% said salt is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent comprising 6-45wt.% water and 25-75wt.% ethanol, and then mixed with a propellant, comprising dimethyl ether, etc., to give an antistatic aerosol esp. suitable for antistatic treatment of fiber.
