    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently treating organic substance-containing wastewater using a simple apparatus with simple operation control, and to provide the apparatus for the method.
    SOLUTION: A reactor 1 has a double-pipe structure including an outer pipe 2, an inlet nozzle 3 disposed in the upstream lateral side of the outer pipe 2, an outlet nozzle 4 disposed in the lateral side of the outer pipe 2 downstream from the inlet nozzle 3, and an inner pipe 5 disposed inside the outer pipe 2. As the inner pipe 5, one having ozone permeability and oxidation resistance is used. The organic substance-containing water to which an ozone decomposition accelerator has been added is passed through the outer pipe 2, and an ozone-containing gas is supplied to the inner pipe 5. The ozone inside the inner pipe 5 permeates the inner pipe 5 to flow into the organic substance-containing water, and part of the ozone reacts with the ozone decomposition accelerator in the water to generate OH radicals. The ozone and the OH radicals decompose the organic substances in the water.
