Abstract: A porous polymer structure having a smooth surface and a porous structure embedded below the surface can be simply produced by using a hydrophobic substrate with a steam spraying process, and the porous polymer structure can exhibit very excellent low-adhesive property due to the smooth surface and the porous structure embedded below the surface.
It is possible to realize excellent low-adhesive property even without using a surface modifier or a lubricant. Since the structure shows flexibility, it can even be attached to a curved surface, and can be usefully applied to various industries due to a possible adjustment of the surface characteristic.-

Abstract: Methods of forming a lightweight reinforced thermoplastic core layer and articles including the core layer are described. In some examples, the methods use a combination of thermoplastic material, reinforcing fibers and bicomponent fibers to enhance retention of lofting agents in the core layer. The processes permit the use of less material while still providing sufficient lofting capacity in the final formed core layer.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing nanoporous polysulfone-based polymers, including: a copolymer of a polysulfone polymer and a polar polymer is immersed into a compound swelling agent, and maintained for at least 1 minute above room temperature; the compound swelling agent is a “solvent pair” composed of the mixture of solvent A and solvent B; the solvent A has high affinity with the polysulfone polymer; and the solvent B has high affinity with the polar polymer; the treated copolymer is taken out from the compound swelling agent and then dried to remove the solvent to obtain the nanoporous polysulfone-based polymers.

Abstract: Methods for making wet gels and dried gels therefrom are provided. The method for making a wet gel can include combining a hydroxybenzene compound, an aldehyde compound, and an additive to produce a reaction mixture. The additive can include a carboxylic acid, an anhydride, a homopolymer, a copolymer, or any mixture thereof. At least the hydroxybenzene compound and the aldehyde compound can be reacted to produce a wet gel. The reaction mixture can include about 10 wt % to about 65 wt % of the hydroxybenzene compound, about 5 wt % to about 25 wt % of the aldehyde compound, up to about 85 wt % of the carboxylic acid, up to about 40 wt % of the anhydride, up to about 40 wt % of the homopolymer, and up to about 40 wt % of the copolymer, where weight percent values are based on the combined weight of the hydroxybenzene compound, the aldehyde compound, and the additive.
