The cut portion passes through the upper part of the X-axis carriage. A bobbin frame and a Y-axis carriage are fixed on by connecting bolts. A shaking prevention roller and a vertical alignment roller(45) are formed in the Z-axis carriage. Abstract: A process for manufacturing continuous ceramic tape includes steps of heating a ceramic feedstock to a molten state and spraying molten droplets of the feedstock onto a deposition surface. The method further includes forming a ceramic coating on the deposition surface by accumulating the droplets, which solidify and are directly bonded to one another. The deposition surface is non-stick with respect to the ceramic coating such that the coating may be peeled off of the deposition surface as a continuous ceramic tape, without fracture. Additionally, in embodiments, the deposition surface is removed by running the deposition over a bending edge, chemically stripping or dissolving the deposition surface, or burning the deposition surface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for preparing a coating comprising a matrix material and fluid filled capsules onto a substrate by using a thermal spray method. The method comprises applying the matrix material on the substrate by using athermal spray technique generating a flame or a jet. A liquid solution containing fluid filled capsules is simultaneously injected by a separate device into the flamefor obtaining homogeneously distributed capsules in the matrix. The separate device injecting the capsules inside the flame should allow full control on the exact injection position for avoiding the burning of the capsules and or the fluid. Consequently, the matrix material and the capsules are uniformly spread on the substrate, and thus, thecoating is obtained.

Abstract: A system and method of depositing coatings on a substrate includes providing a substrate in contact with air, and providing a plasma source (12) having a housing (16) surrounding a first electrode (18) and a second electrode (20) spaced from the first electrode. A plasma is generated by applying a signal to the first electrode and exciting a gas between the first electrode and the second electrode. A substantially uniform flux of at least one reactive specie is generated over an area larger than 1 cm 2 . The plasma is emitted into the air and toward the substrate. Various embodiments of the system and method allow high speed deposition of coatings on even thermally-sensitive substrates without the need of a chamber enclosing the substrate.
