Abstract: PURPOSE: To correctly grind an ophthalmic lens by providing a readout place reading out the positions in the axial direction of specified zones in the respective front and rear surfaces having different curvature of the ophthalmic lens. CONSTITUTION: The probes of a readout place 53 are energized by springs, for example, supported on a chassis so as to respectively elastically contact with an ophthalmic lens 10. The ophthalmic lens 10 is rotated under the control of a drive motor 24. Because the position of the lens contacted with the probe is a curved shape, accompanying this rotation the probe is moved in the axial direction, this motion is detected with a receiver part, transferred from the receiver part to a control unit 39, and it is input and stored in the control unit 39. The angular indexing of the axial motion is performed against the original line or the reference line of the ophthalmic lens 10.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a device capable of grasping a weak circular object with accurate centering. CONSTITUTION: A nearly circular object grasping and clamping device is provided with a central main body 2 provided with three grasping and clamping elements 10, 11, 12 for supporting a circular material at the tangent in three areas 13, 14, 15 of a pair of tangent contact formed with an angle larger than 90 degree. The grasping and clamping element 10 is arranged on the axis of the central main body 2 at one end of a movable push rod 18. The other two elements 11, 12 are symmetrically arranged at the ends of two levers 8, 9 formed of a clamping arm 33 and an operating rod 34. The push rod 18 is energized in the axial clamping direction by at least one clamping spring. The other two elements 11, 12 are turned in the clamping direction by at least one lever operation exciting spring 52. Clamping is released by applying hydraulic pressure to a piston to be operated in the opposite direction to the clamping spring.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate a need or a pivot screw by providing a spring loaded hinge with two hollow members which have bores and joint faces in end parts and previously applying a stress to the spring so that joint faces are pushed to each other with the intermediate part of connection parts between them. CONSTITUTION: A spring loaded hinge 11 has two hollow members 12 and 13 which have bores 17 and 18 respectively and have joint faces 12a and 13a in end parts. Two bores 17 and 18 are opened in orifices 17a and 18a faving each other, and the spring loaded hinge 11 has connection parts 15 which is stored in two bores 17 and 18 and pierces orifices 17a and 18a and has an expanded end part brought into contact with the inside end face of one bore and has the other end connected to a spring 16 stored in the other bore. A stress is previously applied to the spring 16 so that joint faces 12a and 13a are pushed to each other with the middle part of the connection parts between them. Thus, two members are held by each other with the springe loaded means, which has a high resistance in the transverse direction, without pivot screws neither a fear of damage.

CONSTITUTION: A light emitting means 11 for forming a plurality of light beams M is provided on the incoming side of a lens 10 to measure coordinates at which the light beams M hit at a position indicated by M' within an analysis plane P vertical to the axis line A of an optical system. A position sensor 12 is provided on the outgoing side of the lens 10. A mask 22 is disposed on the outgoing side of the light emitting means to let the light beam M pass only one at a time. The axial line A' of the lens 10 desired to measure the characteristic thereof coincides with the axial line A of the means 11 and the sensor 12. The center light beam M0 hits the plane P at a point m'0 as the projection of a point m0 . Then, coordinates X'0 and Y'0 of the point m'0 can be determined as the function of X coordinate X0 and Y coordinate Y0 of the point m0 by calculation from a distance D between the center plane of the lens 10 and the plane P and a distance between the axial line A' of the lens 10 and the axial line A of the optical system.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To measure a pupil interval by compositing the main axis to be vertical to a near-plane of human face and this plane with reference to a human posture whose head is straight held up and whose line of sight is focused to the horizontal line. CONSTITUTION: Upon having the forehead holder 1a and nose pad 1b touching to each given point of the face of a patient 1 to be checked, respectively, a front panel 2a is positioned in almost parallel with patient 1 face, whose window hole's 2b position is fitted to the position of optometric lens framed. The focus of the constringent-type lens 4 agrees with a point light source 7. The virtual image produced by the lens 4 and reflected back from the cornea is treated as a real image by an objective lens 5, to which the real image in the plane vertical to a main axis 3 is corresponded and where a measuring scale 6 placed transversally in the plane exists as well. This measuring scale 6 is also provided with a computer system, including charge-transfer elements accompanying an array of sensitive members, so that a controller/reader unit 8 successively scans the contents to indicate pupil intervals.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To lessen the danger of damage and deformation of a nose supporting body in case of getting an impact by providing a spectacle frame with a sliding member which is freely movably attached in the housing of a bridge, a spring which is housed in the housing and presses the sliding member outward from the housing, and a nose pad supporting body which is fixed to the sliding member. CONSTITUTION: The metallic supporting body 17 formed into an inverted U shape is fixed to the lower part of the sliding member 18 attached to move within the housing 19 formed at the double bridges and the spring 20 is placed in the housing so as to press the sliding member 18 outward, i.e., downward toward the nose. The housing 19 is composed of the inside volume of a casing 22 in the form of a pipe rectangular in its cross section and the casing 22 houses the spring 20 and the sliding member 18. As a result, the occurrence of the damage associated with the deformation of the nose pad supporting body 17 when an impact is applied, is lessened.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To make it possible to directly cut corresponding lenses in compliance with the sizes of rims by providing a plate with flaps adjustable in inclination and executing the adjustment of their inclination after centering a spectacle frame and adjusting the position of the spectacle frame with respect to the line perpendicular to the axial line. CONSTITUTION: The supporting device 15 has plural holding means arranged at the plate 16. These holding means hold the spectacle frame 10 above the opening 19 of the plate 16. At least some of the holding means are supported by the flaps 20 pivotally fitted to the plate 16. The inclination of the flaps is made adjustable. The holding means have centering fingers 18A, 18'A perpendicular to the pivotal axial lines Z, Z', positioning contact members 18B, 18'B, second positioning contact member 18C and auxiliary fingers 18D, 18'D. The adjustment of the inclination is executed after the centering and positioning of the spectacle frame are executed and, therefore, the reading of the contours of a template is made possible, by which the reading of the contours of the already cut lenses is made possible. As a result, the direct cutting of the corresponding lenses in compliance with the sizes of the rims 11' is executed.

CONSTITUTION: The smooth part 18 of the screw 13 for connection has the small-diameter part 29 which has an axial height H above the thickness of at least a second hinge element 14B, more strictly speaking the thickness E of its joint shaft 16 perpendicularly to the second hinge element 14B to be freely crossed by this smooth part and more strictly speaking perpendicularly to the joint shaft 15 in a radial direction and an annular form in a retraced state and has the transverse shoulder part 30 alongside the thread cutting part 19 of the screw 13 for connection. Then, the joint shaft 16 of the second hinge element 14B engages between the shoulder parts 30 and 31 of the screw 13 for connection. Consequently, the shoulder part 30 of the screw engages with this joint shaft 16 thereunder. As a result, the casual slack of the screw 13 for connection is prevented and the occurrence of the contingent accident is overcome.
