Abstract: Se proporciona un metodo y aparato para uso en un primer transceptor (por ejemplo una unidad transmisora/receptora inalambrica (WTRU), un punto de acceso (AP) un nodo) para ajustar la velocidad de transmision de paquetes transmitidos a un segundo transceptor en base en las senales que recibe el primer transceptor desde el segundo transceptor. En una modalidad, se utiliza un proceso de tasa de error de paquete de transmision (Tx PER) para ajustar la velocidad de transmision de paquetes. En otra modalidad, se utiliza un proceso basado en indicador de fuerza de senal relativa (RSSI) para determinar el SRI de los paquetes recibidos en el primer transceptor desde el segundo transceptor para ajustar la velocidad de transmision de paquetes. En otra modalidad, se miden indicadores de calidad de transmision en el segundo transceptor y se envian a primer transceptor, el cual deriva una velocidad nueva de transmision de paquetes a partir de los mismos. Los procesos basados en Tx PER y RSSI se pueden utilizar individualmente, combinados o de manera conjunta con otros procesos.
