    Abstract: Aspects relate to establishing a signaling connection between a radio access network (RAN) node and a first scheduling entity. The RAN node may communicate in a dual connectivity (DC) mode of operation with the first scheduling entity (e.g., a secondary gNB) using a first radio access technology (RAT) and with a second scheduling entity (e.g., a master eNB) using a second RAT. The RAN node and the first scheduling entity may support sending information for a first signaling connection between the RAN node and the first scheduling entity over a second signaling connection through the second scheduling entity (e.g., when the second signaling connection is more reliable than the first signaling connection). To establish the second signaling connection, the RAN node and the first scheduling entity may signal support for the second signaling connection and exchange Internet Protocol information for the second signaling connection.

    Abstract: An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node may receive a parent knowledge message, the parent knowledge message indicating whether a parent IAB node of the child IAB node has received an optional signaling message, determining to transition between first resources and second resources at a transition time, the first resources being associated with use of a mobile termination of the child IAB node, the second resources being associated with use of the distributed unit of the child IAB node, and determine a number of guard symbols provided by the parent IAB node at the transition time based on whether the parent knowledge message indicates that the parent IAB node has received the optional signaling message.

    Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to resource allocation in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) system. In an example, the aspects include determining, by a central unit (CU), a configuration of not-available (NA) resources for a parent node, wherein the NA resources of the parent node correspond to a set of one or more resources configured at the parent distributed unit (DU) as being unavailable for uplink and downlink communications between the parent DU and a child node; determining, by the CU, a first child DU resource configuration, wherein the child DU resource configuration corresponds to a set of one or more resources configured at the child DU for uplink or downlink communications between the child node and at least one child of the child node; modifying, by the CU, the first child DU resource configuration to create a modified child DU resource configuration.
