Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide a method of hydrolysis of cellulose using a filamentous fungus-derived cellulase as a carbohydrase, which method comprises the step of adding the carbohydrase to cellulose to perform primary hydrolysis and then subjecting the primary hydrolysate to solid-liquid separation into a primary sugar liquid and solids; the step of adding water to the solids and performing secondary hydrolysis, followed by subjecting the secondary hydrolysate to solid-liquid separation into a secondary sugar liquid and a residue; and the step of filtering the primary sugar liquid and/or secondary sugar liquid through an ultrafiltration membrane, and recovering the carbohydrase from the feed side and recovering a sugar solution from the permeate side. By this, a method to reduce the amount of enzyme, such as cellulase, used in a method for producing a sugar liquid from pretreated cellulose is provided.
Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide a method for producing a sugar liquid by repeating a sugar liquid production process comprising the Steps (1) to (3) below: (1) the step of adding a filamentous fungus-derived cellulase to cellulose to perform primary hydrolysis; (2) the step of adding a fresh filamentous fungus-derived cellulase to the hydrolysate in Step (1) to perform secondary hydrolysis; and (3) the step of subjecting the hydrolysate in Step (2) to solid-liquid separation to obtain a sugar liquid, from which a recovered enzyme is obtained; wherein the recovered enzyme obtained in Step (3) is used for Step (1) of the next and later sugar liquid production processes. By this, the present invention provides a method for reducing the amount of enzyme used, such as cellulase, in a method for producing a sugar liquid from pretreated cellulose.
Abstract:
In the process of production of a sugar liquid from woody biomass, conventional techniques have a drawback in that particular components contained in the saccharified liquid of the woody biomass cause deterioration of the filtration performance during filtration of the saccharified liquid through a microfiltration membrane and/or ultrafiltration membrane. In the present invention, mannanase is reacted with a liquid component obtained by hydrolysis of woody biomass to increase the filtration performance of the microfiltration membrane and/or ultrafiltration membrane for the saccharified liquid, so that efficient production of a sugar liquid is possible.
Abstract:
In a method for producing a sugar liquid comprising filtering a sugar liquid through a nanofiltration membrane and collecting a sugar liquid from the feed side, loss of sugar into the permeate side of the nanofiltration membrane can be reduced by filtering a sugar liquid containing an organic liquid compound having a relative dielectric constant of not less than 17 at 25°C through the nanofiltration membrane.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a cellulose-based filter aid having high performance to remove suspended substances, and a method for producing it. The method for producing a filter aid comprises the steps of: (A) obtaining a pretreated biomass by pulverization treatment and/or thermochemical treatment of a cellulose-containing biomass; (B) treating the pretreated biomass obtained in the Step (A) with cellulase to obtain a cellulase-treated product; and (C) obtaining a solid content of the cellulase-treated product of the Step (B). The cellulose-based filter aid comprises a water-insoluble cellulase-treated product of a cellulose-containing biomass.
